BTW Have you tried hooking up with ElectronicArts? It's the kind of music they usually put into their NeedForSpeed line and it'd be good publicity for you (plus some of their studios are in Florida).

you're the first person to not like the reverb on that song's vocals... but it's all good... I know not everyone will like our songs... but I'm just thankful to be able to make them and share them all with you.

but yeah, well, we don't have the best equipment to record haha, but we try to be as different as possible with our vocal mastering (reverbs, echoes, etc...) ... There's a little bit of everything in the album... so everything really sounds ... like nothing anybody has ever heard before... so it's going to take a while to get used to...

and yeah, we've actually been getting emails from several people, such as Hitt Music Group as well as other development groups

If anything, this is just a starting point, to learn and hopefully get better... every band/artist has to start somewhere

Have you heard of Cannibal Ox before at all? ... we're really influenced by that group/duo's sound... the acid/abstract beats and lyrics... so hopefully people can enjoy it

Naw man its jus as a musician my music is more like that stuff you say is crap, so I mean obviously I dont agree. I respect your hustle though, I respect anybody who puts themselves out there doin what they love to do like You an I. We can debate all day about "Hip hop is Dead" an the "Mainstream crap" but there is no right or wrong answer yah feel me. I tried addin you but my PC bein a hoe, Ill try again ina bit. Hey man, I didn't mean to disrespect you as an artist; that's the last thing I want to do or ever do. I respect all genres of music... I'm a DJ as well, I listen to everything, from classic rock, to old school hip-hop to trance and in-between

But I do have preferences with my musical tastes, you know what I mean? I guess it's like... I have that underground/old-school hip-hop mentality ... and you're right, there is no wrong or right

The new stuff does have it's place in hip-hop (crunk, hyphy, south, mid-west, 2-step, club, etc...)... I guess it's just a philosophical thing

I also used to play bass guitar in a blues rock band back in the day... and I kind of have that same sort of mentality when it comes to rock music ( I prefer blues, classic rock, old school punk and metal than ...well... the new stuff such as emo, nu-metal, post-grunge)

but yeah, if you hit me up with your myspace page, i'll add you to our support list... i'm open to all music styles... and you're technically not on the radio or MTV lol... so you're good in my book haha :]

I support a lot of underground, unsigned, and local hip-hop artists that have that "new" sound that I called "crap" (maybe "commercialistic" was a better word to use}... I take that word back man

AND YES! I WOULD LOVE TO COLLAB, haha... i do that 24/7 with everybody (singers, rockers, rappers... anyone that does music)... hit me or Fern up anytime... we're always messing with Pro Tools and Reason/FL Studio everyday... learning new tricks everytime

Good stuff, JAX...I also am working on a cd called "earthling" my project is "Stoneroot". It's melodic rock stuff, with two and three part vocal harmonies and a lot of guitar layering (I've done all the instruments and vocals on my home studio) and am getting ready to bring back some of my former mates and new folks as well to put the act together. I don't especially gravitate toward hip hop and it's derivatives and forms, I look at it a bit like forceful poetry, rather than a pure form of music. I DO appreciate the boldness, though (we've done a bit of it with a female singer we had). But, hey...anything original is gold, I say (trying to get my son to accept incorporating the sax, of all things, into metal). Can't do covers to any extent anymore. But, anyway...I let ya know when a slap my stuff on Myspace.

Melodic Rock... I like that... is it more Decemberists type or The Pinback?...or different? ...sometimes i confuse that with Alternative Rock

like... you know Silversun Pickups, they sound like Sonic Youth, Smashing Pumpkins and Dinosaur Jr. all rolled up into one... and that's 3 completely different time frames of rock

I don't know what it is, but you sir, you got something very special going on there. It's refreshing and original, I don't know how you're doing it, but keep doing it, that's all I got to say. Keep working with it!

This board in itself has a lot of very talented musicians it seems. We should be all proud of that, Orlando area represent!

Lol...I have no conscious influences at all, yet am moved (besides, Mozart, Vivaldi, Grieg, Copeland and Debussy, of course ) by early hard rockers like The Who, The Sweet, Humble Pie, edgar Winter Sabbath, Blue Cheer, Zep et al, through The Ramones (gotta put ;em here), The Cult, Jane's Addiction and that crowd. I dig Collective Soul, also Tool, Avenged Sevenfold, Red Hot Chili Peppers (I know that's kinda a broad swath), I like the Motown intensity/sass and vocal harmonies, as well as the vocal harmonies and styles of The Byrds, CSN, Mamas and Papas and Righteous Bros. Gimme Dylan and Tom Waits, when I needs to be profoundly moved and the Beatles (Rubber Soul on...) when I need to visit "Nirvana", the "place" for a bit. I really just have a sketch of an idea as an acoustic guitar-based piece with baritone to tenor (that latter when I'm sufficiently and inwardly impacted by the content) and then color it with more guitar (fuzz prn)...an open string drone style, of course bottom it and maybe some strings, organ, piano (don't overdo cheesy synth sound much) and back my own lead vocals in 2-3 part harmonies as much as is appropriate. Dat's my stuff...if anyone is interested. I collaborate with an older dude who is quite literally a cousin of Jimi Hendrix, and is quite creative and innovative in his own right, and I produce for female singers .
I have a Myspace and I'm gonna load it up in a couple of months as I'm a stickler of a producer...arghhh! Again, Jax...cool stuff.

I'm interested to check out some more in that genre, too. Any other suggestions in line with those? (I also like Digital Underground, Arrested Development, Jurassic 5, The Roots, Tech N9ne, etc., if that helps any.)

This is kind of random, but the first time I heard "Jane Says", I went home, downloaded it, and proceed to listen to it like 100 times in a row. It's such a simple song, but I love it. Listening to it right now actually, after reading this. Also, I want a steel drum. That's it. Oh, and this song gets extra points for me actually being able to play it on guitar. Between "Jane Says" and "Horse With No Name", by America, I actually look like I know what I'm doing with a guitar in my hand. Until you realize that they're arguably the two easiest songs in the world to play, I look like a rock star.
