Iverson could be traded.

Post#1 » by east/beastD-12 » Thu Sep 25, 2008 1:47 pm

I would love to have him here. Is there any way to get him in a Magic jersey?
We have a let it rip style anyway. No can let rip like that guy.
He is most definetly a bombs away kind of guy. we wouldn't lose Hedo's play making ability either.
Talk about wide open shots. Defenses would be clueless.
So what do you guy's think about Hedo for Iverson ?

Good point. Dwight would be a lock for another rebounding title and D P O Y .

We've already been down this road before. Otis isn't a fan of AI. /end thread

As before, there is no gosh-darn-way-in-heck that the Magic trade Lewis this year. And without coupling Lewis, there is no GDWIH that the Magic could meet the payroll.

AI will not be a Magician.

Given that Denver would want AI to go back East (that is, he won't be traded to the Lakers), NY-A or NY-B might be good targets.

I would not mind seeing Iverson in a Magic uniform but it is very much unlikely to happen. We would have to give up at least Hedo, Battie, Bogans, and Cook just as an attempt to make the payroll. Or even possibly throw in the rights to Fran. Either way if we give up all of that for an Iverson for 1 year is it really worth it? That is the question we gotta ask.

There are a lot of teams who want to cut payroll and the teams that have the space are waiting for players like LeBron or Kobe not Iverson. Denver wanted him and now they are going to have to either eat his contract or keep on playing him.
No way Otis takes Iverson if he wants to keep his job the owners would can him in a heartbeat.

Only reason I'd have him on this team is so he cant drop 60 on us again.

+1 on that but think about this, Even if only a brief period for him Iverson still brings in the fact he was in the NBA finals and led a team to that point. Granted he has alot of Playoff expirence. But one thing I would like is so he cannot come in here and drop a 60 game on us again. Heck he dropped a 52 point game last year on the grizzlies which means he still got it.

Heck no. He is a great player but he is a LOSER. And in terms of loser I mean as a winner. He has never won a title and he made it to the Finals one year and I think that was lucky anyways. He is not the type of guy we need here. All the talk about how we have the best chemistry in the league would be thrown out the window if you do that deal. I would not want him here and especially not for Hedo or Rashard. That would be a TERRIBLE trade. No way to AI.

A.I. with Dwight and Lewis would make one of the best threesomes in the league, at least offensively. I could see a lineup of Nelson/A.I./Pietrus/Lewis/Howard just blowing teams out of the water. At this stage though I don't think that A.I. is that much better than Hedo or that he actually fits our team any better than Hedo does. So no thanks, but it sure would be a fun ride....
