tonight's game was a moral defeat.

the fact that we're 7-3 and have played relatively poorly (especially Hedo and Rashard) is a great sign.

Another gritty victory, time to play some good ball against Toronto now.
Batman did damn well off the bench tonight as he really stepped in for Dwight.

Just got in from work, didn't see the game, but jeez, can't remember the last time Dwight had a statline like that. Impressed that we pulled out a win without any rebounding or scoring from Howard (although nice to see him doing other things, e.g blocks, steals, assists, when he was struggling elsewhere).

Solid looking game from Meer, Hedo looks like he played ok, Shard too despite the continuing shooting issues.

What's up with Pietrus - nice statline, but only played 20 min. I see he had some foul trouble with 4, but surely that isn't enough to keep him out for that long? Didn't get injured did he?

And what's up with Lee only seeing 5 mins? Kid's been excellent the last few games, really showing some promise.

MP was in foul trouble in the first half and some of the third quarter, but he had a strong second half overall.

Hard to say about Lee. He was quiet in his few minutes. I imagine Stan just didn't want to play a rookie on the road in the second half.

1) As above, it was huge for Pietrus to stop fouling and get more into the game.

2) Nelson's consistent scoring and low TOs (more steals than TOs!) help the starting guard have a ice boxscore line.

3) A special "Thank Goodness" for Battie being hot. Without that, ..... I don't want to ponder.

4) All road wins are good wins. Two straight gutty efforts for Orlando on the road.

Attention K-Mart shoppers, "The Magic are now in first place in the South East."

I just wanted to give credit to the non Dwight's for good defensive rotations against the pick and roll. Charlotte didn't get very many easy looks and it really made a difference in the 3rd quarter.

Now, TO is a much better pick and roll team, but if the Magic use the same fundamentals against TO that they used against Charlotte, I think they'll have a good shot at winning, even if the Magic don't shoot well.
