Game 25: Orlando Magic (18-6) @ Golden State Warriors (7-17)

Who: Image AT Image
When: Monday, December 15th
Where: ORACLE Arena in Oakland, CA
Time: 10:30 PM EST
TV/Radio/Live Box Score: Sun Sports/ Magic Radio Network/ ESPN gamecast
Season Series: First Meeting
Preview: Orlando will more than likely be without the services of their leading scorer, shot blocker and rebounder for only the second time in 5 seasons, this first coming on Saturday night in Utah, where the Magic proved that they could get the job done without him by defeating the Jazz by 9. This is a game fans should be worried about because it is the last game of the trip and teams occasionally tend to look past their task that night and don't bring it all. It would be great if we can put this team away early and rest our starters. The last thing we need is one of our starters getting injured with MP and Dwight already being out. The Warriors are the youngest team in the league. Combine that with Don Nelson and you have a team that one, doesn't play defense, and two, likes to run the ball. If you are a fan of high scoring games, this will be one for you to watch, even though I think the Magic can hold the Warriors at bay. My prediction, a Magic blowout win, 117-98
Team Trivia: The Magic have 4 former Warrior members. GM Otis smith, assistant GM Dave Twardzik, SG Mickael Pietrus, C Adonal Foyle, while the Warriors have one former Magic member, Corey Maggette

golden state is 2-9 since crawford joined the lineup and 2-13 in the last 15 games..they can score a ton of points and rank #2 in scoring, but they also give up the most points in the league..could be another shoot out game that we need to be prepared for..

LOL greatest good luck picture on this board's history.

Anyways, should be a fun game to watch. 3s will rain like crazy. We don't want to get into an outscoring game with them because they do have some offensive talent.

I'll say we win 120-105

I truely hopes Dwight can rest for this game. I think we still have our chances to win this one without him.

Magic in the Bay Area? There's nothin better. :D

To be honest; We shouldn't have much of a problem winning this game. Golden State is the worst 3-Pt shooting team in the league (if I recall), so as long as they dont go bananas on us, the team should be alright.

Even though we could win it without him, hopefully Dwight's knee is a lot better and he is able to go tonite.

This is after all a classic let-down game. But, if StM is really that good, he will take his Magicians to a win.

The NBA is a team game on talent. Orlando is more talented than Golden State. So, are they a better team? I say yes.

I think the Magic win by around 8 points.

Gortat knows this is his last showcase game for a while, and he should be fired up. hopefully, that does not lead him to foul trouble. But even if it does, Battie is solid as a big minute backup.

KEY MATCHUPS:

vs.
Image
This game will be determined on which of these 2 outdoes the other 2. We all know Jamal Crawford will put 30 on us. Hopefully we're prepared for C.J. Watson and Rob Kurz. Hedo and Rashard need to outplay Jackson and Biedrins statistically on both ends of the court if we want to make this easy on ourselves. Yes I know that Gortat will have his hands full fighting off Biedrins for rebounds but I have faith in the Polish Hammer. Hedo and Rashard really need to give rebound support, Gortat isn't a magnet like Dwight is.

Dwight is still currently listed as day-to-day. Since he's waiting to return to O-Town (not you Oakland) on Tuesday to get an MRI on that left knee, I just don't see any possibility of him playing. Which is fine by me, let Marcin cause havoc and have Dwight rested up for the Spurs on Thursday.

Like someone already said, this game scares me. Maybe because I'll be happy with a 3-2 road trip.
