Who do you want to take the East 8th seed?

Post#1 » by Bensational » Wed Feb 11, 2009 6:51 am

it looks like it could be a nice race for 8th place between Milwaukee, New Jersey, Chicago and New York. who are you going for?

Personally, I'm going for Chicago. I've been wanting that team to get on the right track for a while now. All their young guns seem to be clicking right now too. Thomas is a monster, Deng seems to have stepped it up a notch, Noah is becoming reliable, and then there's Rose and Gordon who are just great players, and will be fun to watch in the playoffs.

I feel bad for Milwaukee, and half want them to take the 8th place, just to spite losing their top 2 players. i also want to see Sessions prove himself against Skiles.

New Jersey don't do much for me. It's great that they're competing, but that team would be far better served with another good draft pick. Harris, VC, Jianlin and Lopez are a nice start, but they need more firepower for the long run.

New York.... i just don't buy it that they want to compete. i look at the Knicks and all i see is a "pending" sign. they're just on hold until 2010. and once come next year they'll suck even more, with Harrington likely gone, and Lee possibly gone. Nate, Duhon and Chandler don't make much of a team to cheer for.

it's still early, but since we're heading into the 2nd half very soon, what do you guys think?

I'm pulling for Milwaukee. I like Skiles as a coach and think he is going to turn that team around.

Well it all depends on who ends up being the number one seed. If we do I want Milwaukee, If it's Cleveland or Boston I want New York to get it, cause I think they would have the best chance in posing a challenge.

I prefer them as the 9th and 10th seeds respectively.

I guess my answer would simply be whoever matches up best with the 1st and 2nd seeds assuming we're not either. In that case, whomever matches up worse.

The Knicks posing a challenge to Cleveland Or Boston?? I dont see that happening at all. 5 games at most for both series.

Detroit will fall to the 8 th seed.
Matchup Boston-Detroit or Cavs-Detroit would be nice

Yeah i wouldnt mind that either. But im hoping for an Orlando vs Detroit in the first round. I am tired of losing to that team in the playoffs, and just need one of these series to go Orlandos way.

Indy definitely would be nice. They're the kind of team that routinely cause upsets, but can't seem to close out games that they should win. it's hard to get them pegged.

I'd still like to think Chicago could cause some upsets. Or at least, their young guns could learn a lot from a playoff series.

Bucks, because they'll have to scratch and claw in order to do it.
Basketball is driven by three principles:

1) Movement 2) Application of fundamentals 3) Predictability

Milwaukee, and by a lot.

BTW: They have already reached their win total of last year. An under-reported accomplishment from this low-market club.

I change my vote. I want Boston at 8 and Cleveland at 1 ;-)

Seriously, Indiana.
