Note sure what you're meaning - I was referring to Me-Mac's collapse - with Doc at the helm.

(As a response to your "Doc Rivers would have us in the ECF by now." comment)

This will probably be worst than the 2003 Debacle we had against the Pistons if we lose. 2003 we weren't expected to win the series at all. We got lucky.

2009, we're playing against a team without their best player, and with their front line depleted. Mind we are playing without our all-star PG, but Alston has done a nice job replacing Jameer. In all means we should be winning this series anyways.

and if we lose I'd be more pissed than what had happend in 2003.

and Magic aren't a champioship team.

All of you magic fans tired of C fans whining about KG and Powe's abscence, one thing that Ainge knew when he built this team was that he was trading youth for vets and with the vets comes the increased chance of injuries. I haven't seen the Celtics board crew crying about lack of post players, it's the TNT squad that never shuts up about it.

The last 2 games have the potential to haunt the team and us fellow fans for years. I am sad...

I don't think Red Auerbach could do that.

This team is offensively dysfunctional.

The Magic players have struggled because they've been a bit overconfident IMO. They're the more talented roster at this point but the Celtics are a unified and scrappy band of ballers. The Magic simply need to pull together and a leader needs to emerge. If the Magic lose it will be because there was no one, player or coach, who truly stepped up to lead the team. That's not a knock on SVG any more than it's a knock on Howard or any of the other Magic players.

I'm a Celtics fan and I can see that the Magic should be winning this series, and they still should win the series IMO. I stated at the beginning of the series that the Magic controlled their fate and they have. You can blame the refs or Stern but that's plain silly. There's no excuse that will make you as fans feel better. And if the Magic are looking for excuses than they're leadership structure TRULY failed. Your team is fine but you need a real leader to step up, Jameer might have been that guy but he's not here. KG was that guy for the Celtics too and he's gone but players have upped their games. The Magic need the same thing to happen for them in the next two games and they'll win the series.

I'm guessing that these game(s) are going to be really interesting to watch...

It makes me think we can't win game 6...

Post#210 » by JazzItUp13 » Thu May 14, 2009 8:55 pm

all this talk of dwights comments and how Stan maybe told dwight he doesn't care if he gets ran out of town by him...Makes me wonder, wtf? it's like we are not even close to being out of this series...1 win and it's back even again with a game to go...we can win in boston and we can play VERY WELL in boston...so why can't we just go on and play the f'in cavs after this series? lets win the damn series! the gloom and doom has got to stop....

anyone else feel this way?

To quote Dick Motta "the opera ain't over til the fat lady sings).

I'm a grinder (and I hope the Magic are too).

We'll find out tonight.

Tim Povtak really believes we'll win on Sunday, and he's normally not one for predictions.

Neither am I BUT......Lets look at the facts.

The Celtics are 3-0 in their last 3 game 7's. They are due to lose. Sorry, but they are.

The Magic are LONG overdue for one of those everything is clicking kind of games like they did vs. New Orleans and Cleveland. They have it in them to win by 10 or more on Sunday.

Ray Allen is great but Ray Allen is tired plus they may have found a way to neutralize Big Floppy Davis.

and finally, Frankly, the Celtics had all of the momentum going into game 6. I thought we had no chance after the Dwight thing and what not, but we were the ones who came back from 10 down. We have the momentum now because we were given up for dead. Remember, we're the road team. WE HAVE NOTHING TO LOSE.

Go Magic!

Some point to the Celtics rich and long tradition of success, some point to the failure of the Magic in their previous post seasons', some point to recent history of both teams.

All of that means "nada" for game 7.

Magic will win.

We're a difficult team to beat at home, we've been that way

Post#219 » by Mallpha » Sat May 16, 2009 12:36 am

Pierce said:
"We're comfortable with Game 7s," Pierce told the Boston Globe. "We're not a team that gets the jitters. A lot of teams have never played Game 7, knowing if you lose you go home. But you have to play the game, you have to go and put the effort in. We expect the crowd to be the loudest it's been and give us a boost. We think they love it. It's like a heavyweight bout, we knock them down, they knock us down. We're a difficult team to beat at home, we've been that way throughout the playoffs, the last couple of years."

Doesnt this make you laugh a bit? When was the last time the Celtics actualy got in to playoffs before Garnett came 2005?

And considering they've dropped multiple home playoff games already this season.

Still, this is Paul Pierce talking - the same game guy who anointed himself the world's best player after winning finals MVP last year, when he wasn't even the best player on his own team. Great player though he is, I don't look to him for sage wisdom. The same of which can be said for 99% of sportspeople.
