23 points, 22 rebounds, 3 blocks, 56% FG in game 6. So far so good. If does this in game 7, the Magic win IMO.

If he completely focuses on offensive and defensive rebounding he will get hs points, he will stop many of their transition baskets and it will open things up for the shooters. If he does that, we will win.
My 2 cents is worth 5 cents.

I'm just worried about him being to aggressive and getting into foul trouble early

I'm always worried about that but I think the refs will let a lot of things go because it's Game 7 and you don't want that marred by star players being in foul trouble. Kinda like in Game 6-- it was really physical early and the refs starting calling more fouls as the game went on and it became apparent that the stars weren't gonna be in major foul trouble.

haha I just heard on SportsCenter that Ewing was on the John Thompson radio show today and guaranteed a win if everyone comes ready to work hard etc.

That's always the bottom line.
Basketball is driven by three principles:

1) Movement 2) Application of fundamentals 3) Predictability

You gotta hate it when the 22-post board member who rarely posts overinflates a statement in a post like this and then guys like Pancho come in and criticize players for it. (Pancho has been overdosing on grumpy lately.) The OP has a future in writing headlines for a disreputable tabloid. Clearly just trying to create controversy.

Dwight guaranteed nothing. He just indicated that is their intention and that they believe they can.

I'll be behind him and the Magic, no matter how Game 7 goes -- though, of course I hope they win. I want to watch more basketball. Go Magic!

Well duh, **** I could do that. The whole point is to actually show up, play smart, and pray our shots fall and that the refs don't **** us over too badly.

Magic's Ewing guarantees Magic win over Boston in Game 7 (with audio)

Magic assistant Patrick Ewing wasn’t scared of making predictions when he was playing and he’s not scared of making them now that he’s on the sidelines.

Speaking with ESPN Radio 980 in Washington, Ewing guaranteed a victory for Orlando in Game 7 on Sunday.

“It’s a whole team. Everyone has to step up in a Game Seven. Bring your A-game. Get our there and play with your hearts on your sleeve and come away with a win,” Ewing said in the interview, which aired on ESPN Saturday morning. “Even though I’m not playing, I’m guaranteeing a win.”

Ewing’s predictions didn’t always pan out in his playing days. Before the 1994-95 season he declared the Knicks the team to beat, though the Houston Rockets would win the title.

The following season he declared a win in a regular season meeting against Orlando and Shaquille O’Neal. Shaq had 41 points in that February game and the Knicks lost 118-106.

And then before the 1997-98 season Ewing declared “We’re going to win a championship.” The Knicks wound up losing to Indiana in the Eastern Conference semifinals.

From Boston’s perspective Coach Doc Rivers, who played alongside with Ewing during his career, doesn’t mind the prediction.

"Patrick Ewing did that?” Rivers queried after the Celtics practiced Saturday. “We feel great. We feel great about that. I've been on those Knicks teams where he had some predictions. But you know what I've always said about predictions, what else are you going to say? Are you going to say no? But the Patrick prediction makes me feel better.”

Thank you for all of your support. Have fun watching the game on Sunday. After we win this series, we will see you in Cleveland on Tuesday ;-)
11/18/2017 - I have officially disowned Nikola Vucevic and branded him a loser.

- Skal Labissiere was my guy in 2016 pre-trade. Whoops, but I still believe.
- Malik Monk was my guy in 2017. Whoops(?)
- Mo Bamba was my guy in 2018. TBD.

i've said it before and i'll say it again, this team, and Dwight in particular, needs a chip on their shoulder to get the best out of them.

i don't want anyone guaranteeing anything. i want them coming to prove something.

the thing with guarantees is nobody remembers the ones you make that are successful, they just harp on the ones that aren't.
