KEY MATCHUP:

vs.
Image
Sweet Lew was passive as hell last game. It's been clear this postseason that when Rashard is shooting well (and enough) we win. He needs to bring more intensity period, on both ends.
Once again history is not on our side with Phil's 43-0 record in series when he wins Game 1, and most of the media is bagging us and blah blah blah. The same usual crap as expected. The good news is we're definitely not shooting less than 30% from the field Sunday, I can guarantee that. The rest is up to the men in blue and how much they're willing to rebound and get into the paint.
Let Kobe get 50, just make sure that Lee/Mike/JJ make Kobe actually run around on defense. That's how we won at home in the regular season because 24 had nothing left late in the game.

I'm not one to get threads up early, but I felt it necessary to get Game 1 out of our heads as soon as possible.

The Laker board had theirs up this morning ...

Agreed - we need the Boston $hard to $how up on $unday!!

We need to meet and exceed their intensity - primarily on the defensive end. That's key.

Another key would be to get both Bynum and Pow in foul trouble early.

I don't think it's possible to play as bad as we did two games in a row.

Getting beat by 25 was a humbling experience at the least, even though we got waxed, i hope Orlando figured out how they play and be a little bit aggressive, we are good with adversity on our side, so we should be straight. and i'm not expecting for us to shoot 29% again.....

I hate this extra day off. The series just started. The 2 days off should have been in between Games 2 and 3 due to travel. The schedule is flat out stupid.

You're wrong on the Lakers getting "waxed" in the game before we closed in Denver. We won Games 5 & 6.

im with mhec...the next game the team has got to come out with more energy and intensity and sustain that for the whole game. we knew LA would come out focused, well now our players know that too or atleast more so. we need to rebound, defend and move the ball and run a lil.. with kobe we need to be a little more physical with the defense and get into his body more.

we can win this, its not the first time weve faced adversity, im vconfident in the resiliency of our team and our coaching staff

I'm confident we will have a much better showing and be competitive on Sunday night. This team is very resilient and has a lot of pride.

That said, the key is whether or not we can beat them when they play to their full potential. It's gonna be extremely tough to win on their floor and we are gonna need a great effort from multiple different people.

I expect a bounce back game and it will be close right to the final buzzer.

Can't give a prediction just yet though lol

Shard has to take a page from Paul Pierce's book: grow a pair and drive the hoop, rack the fouls up... Lakers will hit him, but it will wear them down, they have no one to guard him off the dribble

Let kobe take 34 shots, just make sure they are fade-aways and jumpers, just like the gal in Denver said: NO PENETRATION!

Don't panic, a lot of the laker game is mental (which extends to media and some refs), plus... they can't have Danny Crawford ref two in a row (the league wil lbe saving him for game six lol) just hope Tom Washington is not involved in game two.

DON'T let b-string Walton/Bynum/Odom/Fisher beat you, make Kobe take all the key shots (he won't need much convincing)

You are the better team, now defend with passion and kill them in transition!!!

edit PS gotta wonder if playing Jameer soooo many minutes was a misake; 1st five were great, but after that not so.... nice change up, but it was clear he did not have the range from three. A team grows through the playoffs, as erratic as alston is he is a three ball threat and is is not going to get posted by fisher....

Agree with the Shard driving.. Shard CAN do it too, that's the worst part. He drives and once he beats his man he pulls up, he's 6'10 he needs to just take it the whole way.

He's got to get more aggressive for sure. At the end of the day though it comes down to making the wide open shots that were there for us to take all game. We can't lay a house worth of bricks and expect to win.

^^ Shard has no handles/fundamentals like pierce has.

We gotta man up and play tougher..I dont predict anything after first game collapse:/

You keep coming here spewing garbage about the Lakers and you don't KNOW jack about ball. You have the basketball IQ of a T-Rex..........non existent. You need to worry about the old broken down Celtics, oh yeah we told y'all they would be ONE HITTER QUITTERS. Notice how even Magic fans don't quote you ? Dude pull out another fishing pole and enjoy your summer.
