No competition, Otis takes the cake by far. The Magic never looked as good as they do now.

I think Shard needs to start at the 3.. THe way I look at the team it should be

Nelson-AJ (if we get CJ then he is ahead of AJ)
VC-Pietrus
Shard-Barnes-Pietrus
Bass-Gortat-ANderson-Shard
Dwight-Gortat-Bass

Still think Gortat could be a 4..

Fun to talk about, but I think there is no consensus....that's probably the biggest strength, no?

the consensus is we have 20 threads devoted to this, and it's discussed in every single thread.

SVG is the only person that knows- and he probably hasn't decided yet. Def not going to make an announcement until as late as possible- wants everyone to work their ass off to be a starter.

Can't we just kill this discussion until training camp when we start to see how guys play together. I was all for shard going to the 3, but you can't make a discussion of it now - we're all blue in the face already.

Definitely put me down for sf. He needs to post up smaller threes and run against backup fours. Matchups will also dictate where he plays, but I believe he is much more valuable at sf. Bass, Ryan, and Gortat should handle most of the pf duties.

Yeah, no one knows for sure at this point, but I'd like to see Rashard at the 3. I think the best thing if that happens is that it means Bass proved to Van Gundy that he is good enough to start at PF. This lineup right here seems like it could be very strong...
Jameer, CJ, AJ
Vince, Pietrus, JJ
Shard, Barnes, Pietrus
Bass, Anderson, Gortat
Dwight Gortat, Foyle

In fairness, I have absolutely no idea.

Part of me thinks maybe he'll play between the two, playing according to the match ups. But then again, changing lineup's each game, or every so often doesn't always yield great results or effects. While it some times can work, it is tried and proven to play your "best" set up, or strongest team first, then rotate from there.

So then it goes back to begging the question, SF or PF. I just don't know. I imagine that SVG is already thinking of it, but he's going to use training camp, preseaon and probably the first few games to work out whats best, he has so many options to go with right now.

Guys I've merged the SL Thread and Lewis SF/PF thread. They were very close topic's and would inevitably step on each others toes, since you can't really talk about one with out referring to the other.

Did you accidentally merge another one in as well? It looks like there is a sort of "Best Magic GM" thread tied in here too.

if you really want an answer, our poll is the best thread for this. Bass wins by far.

I think Lewis was at the PF spot because we had noone capable of starting there but him. That sort of dictated our 3's or Howard style of play.

Hedo was a SF, with Lewis you just have a quicker 6'10" shooter. Bass is, maybe the PF they were looking for to help Dwight. Keep in mind Bass, with his height could defend cerrtain SF and they could switch, just depends. Anderson could play either as well.
My 2 cents is worth 5 cents.
