Official Trade Deadline Thread

Post#1 » by FFBlitzace » Fri Feb 12, 2010 11:22 pm

For discussion of trades throughout the league.

I haven't been a "zomg we need a trade!" guy, but it's human nature to feel jealous and left out when all of your rivals are all over the news as potential landing places for good players.

It's the Magic's turn to get a star for free, dang it.
11/18/2017 - I have officially disowned Nikola Vucevic and branded him a loser.

- Skal Labissiere was my guy in 2016 pre-trade. Whoops, but I still believe.
- Malik Monk was my guy in 2017. Whoops(?)
- Mo Bamba was my guy in 2018. TBD.

damn, that would make the Mavs a heck of a lot better, IMO.

Dirk
Marion
Butler
Whoever
Kidd

that's pretty decent. if they're hitting shots then they could challenge most of the elite teams on any given night.

Now it's Amare to Cleveland talks going on.

This is sooo frustrating.

Amare is an expiring, so why would they dump him for Z?

We need to trade our trash into something,

Cleveland is always trying to trade their trash for someone good. It's only a matter of time till some dumbass team bites on it.

WojYahooNBA
Butler is going to Dallas, but Wiz and Celts will continue to discuss a scaled down deal for Jamison, source says. Boston still interested.

WojYahooNBA
Cavs and Celts will go head to head for Jamison, but sources say Cavs are very involved in talks for Amar'e Stoudemire.

AWESOME THIS MAKES ME SO EXCITED

Yeah I trust Otis I don't think if both Bos and Cle make deals that he'll leave us like sitting ducks.

The Magic need to be like the Yankees, try to trade for the same players their rivals are trying to acquire. The Magic have as much or more to offer for Amare than the Cavs do.

If either Boston or Cleveland lands ANY premier player or even second tier like Jason Richardson I will just stop watching NBA basketball. I mean what's the point afterward? Who in the mother duck do they have to trade for anybody? it's a complete joke if any of these goes through.

No. Orlando do not have a large expiring contract. That is the fundamental difference.

That would be true on the talks for Buttler and Jamison, but not for Amare. Amare is an expiring himself. If they just wanted the cap space, they would just let him walk. The Suns want talent in return out of fear of losing Amare to Free Agency

You`re right, JJ Hickson is not that talent. They could get much much more. I actually don`t think Amare is leaving. Phoenix is in contention and Amare may exercise his option for one more year so that he doesn`t compete with the Boshes, Lebrons and Wades of the world.

Z is an expiring as well. so it would be JJ Hickson + Z for Amare. let Z walk, they save the cap space Amare would've taken up and get a promising young PF to take his place for cheap for a few years.

I know Z is an expiring, but Amare >>>>>>>>> Z. A average young player like Hickson is all that is needed for Amare??

I heard Miami offered Beasley and fillers. That would be a much better deal. I really think the Suns should just stay put and try to keep Amare unless they get a real good offer.

it's not the best deal out there, but if you're Phoenix, (who are renowned for being cost conscious in recent years), and you can get out of a max contract but have a decent talent to replace that contract, would you do it?

instead of paying $10+mil for a starting PF, they can pay $1.5mil.

i'm sure they could milk the Cavs for draft picks etc to go on top as well.

still, i don't see this deal happening. a lot of smoke and very few fires this trade deadline IMO.
