This was a game that clearly highlighted Maxey’s weaknesses as a playmaker. He doesn’t really know how to play with pace, keep his dribble alive, or find the pressure points of a defense. He’s put up some awful shots the past two games and needs to learn from this game film ASAP.

Vintage Embiid game with good effort, screening, and foul grifting. He was settling for jumpers and looked out of sorts a bit but that’s to be expected first game back.

I think you are little to hard on Maxey. The guy is in his third year and he is the 3rd option on this team. It's hard going from 3rd option to first and then expecting him to know how to run the team in a matter of 2 to 3 games. Give the guy some slack. He is constantly upping his game and I am sure he will get better at this too.
You want it to be one way....but it's the other way.

I’m definitely being hard on Maxey but that’s only because I believe in him so much. His self-creation development has no doubt been stunted a bit playing on a good team next to two high usage superstars. I’m just really watching closely this month with Harden out to see if he makes the kind of progress we need him to.
