Thybulle is playing just 10 mpg, why not send him to the G-League?
If we're not going to use him in a consistent role, he needs to be playing 30 mpg in the G-League working on his shooting.

Problem is that he should have been sent to the G League early in his career to work on his offensive game. It’s too late now so all we can do is play him in whatever role works best for the team and see if he can earn another contract.

Why is it too late?
I feel like he'd be better served playing in the G-League as opposed to riding the bench while being on the outs of the rotation with the big league club.

Why would he need to be in-game playing huge minutes to work his shooting? Am I missing something here?
Players work on their shooting on off-days and in the off-season, not in real-time. Whether he plays 30 or 10 minutes doesn't really matter it's the work outside of the game that needs to happen

I think the implication of him being a G League player would murder his confidence more than anything.
Either figure out what to do with him or ship him off. I feel like certain teams would definitely figure out how to squeeze the most out of him and make him a 1st team all-NBA defender in the process.

To answer this question, I think there is a huge difference between just shooting shots in a gym unguarded without any pressure vrs a real game situation where competition is intense and things are moving at a breakneck pace. I think what Kobble is saying is that no matter how hard you try, there's really no way to replicate "in game" play and the decision making that comes with it unless you're baptized by fire in those actual situations. This includes shooting the basketball. It's just a different feeling and unless you've played the game in an organized setting (high school, college, pro) it's just hard to explain. Thybulle might drain six threes out of six in a pickup game with his buddies, but it's just different in a real setting. I don't mean to imply that you've never played the game of basketball. I'm sure you have! But...From my experience, there's a huge difference between the two.

If you listen to House, apparently Thybulle did work really hard on his shooting in the offseason.
Much like with Paul Reed, he's scared to death to do anything other than defense because he gets no minutes, as is.
If he was playing 30+ in the G-league, it would free him up to build shooting confidence by letting it fly.
Not sure why that's hard to comprehend.

The time to focus on his development would have been years ago when he had multiple years left in his rookie deal when he was 22/23. Now he’s in a contract year at age 25 and trending as if we’ll let him walk in the offseason. Why waste time playing him in the G League when we can get 15 minutes from him to boost our defense? Instead we finally try to develop him 3 years too late when he’ll probably be on another team next year?

I agree that it would have been smart to develop him earlier in his career. Instead, he played a ton off the bench as a specialist from Day 1.
Year 1: 19.8 mpg
Year 2: 20 mpg
Year 3: 25 mpg
It's now Year 4 and he's at just 10 mpg. So there's only two options left.
1. Continue to not use him and let him rot on the bench and walk.
2. Send him to the G-League to play 30+ mpg and shoot threes at volume.
If after 10 or so games in the G-League and he's shooting upper 30s from three, call him up in a 20 mpg role with the Sixers. If he shoots well from there onward, then we have a major piece for the playoff run and can feel good about a possible extension with him.
Why not try a last ditch effort to see if there's any shooting ability there, though?

Because he should start but we made commitments for minutes to Tucker and House
There’s never been a time in history when we look back and say that the people who were censoring free speech were the good guys.

If you say so. I have no dog in this fight just don't really buy your theory.

If nothing else, for end-of-quarter/half/game purely defensive possessions he'll see the floor. To be available for that role, he has to be with the Sixers, not Delaware.

Re: Thybulle is playing just 10 mpg, why not send him to the G-League?
The other issue with sending Thybulle down is he is an RFA at the end of the year even if it's 10 MPG we are getting some value him playing in the g-league we receive none and he probably walks anyways at the end of the year.

I think one thing underrated about Thybulle is he’s basically the only player capable of finishing out of the dunkers spot. Once Harden is back his cutting will be rewarded again too.

Which is pretty sad in itself. The lack of athleticism is alarming and the wing production is MIA.
