Now we’re a full year of our two stars playing together, currently healthy (knock on wood), and top ten in O and D. It sucks losing these close games, but I don’t think our team will sleepwalk through a playoff series like we do through some of these games. Could be wrong.

I would agree if it was last year. But this year even if we are the 3rd best team in the league, we’ll have to beat the 2 best teams in the playoffs without home court advantage to get to the Finals. Chances of that are virtually nil. Really needed a top 2 seed this year but won’t get it.

Current roster won't cut it, Trade Embiid and rebuild.

We aren't getting better trading Embiid stop it already. Not to mention we don't even own our picks

Someday people will stop responding to the trolls, namely Bum and Ferry, who rear their heads from under their rocks after every loss. Someday.

I don't know about the other guy, but I read the content of the forum and post in the forum in a way that doesn't hinge on how people are responding to me. So don't respond if you will -- that would make no difference in how I approach the forum.

Embiid and Harden can conceivably set the table to win games but when they get doubled at the end we really do need a third star level player that can benefit from that and put games away. You don’t tear down a team that is a contender, and that is what we have. Tobias and Maxey can get that third player. Even if we fall short this year you have to go all in next year. Morey is in that position and knows it. I would bet Harden takes a 2+1 max. He does fit perfectly with Embiid. The reason we are 3rd is because of those two. Build off them.

Harden circa a few years ago -- added to him a Michael Jordan-esque elevation of his game in the clutch that represents a drive and determination to win -- would be a great closer. Unfortunately he has neither of those characteristics (his former physical game nor that kind of drive) at this point. Embiid plays the wrong position to be a closer, and there's simply no way around that. And Maxey's game hasn't elevated to the level to permit him to be a closer at present. Consequently the team is yet again devoid of such a player.

So yes, someone needs to be added.

IMO, people just don't like to hear the truth, talks about trading Embiid and you are a troll. I've been the number one defender of Embiid here as you all know, but I've seen enough games to know it won't work due to multiple reasons. Sixers need a radical culture change from the process, as well as different coach and different FO, also Embiid too needs a different team and setting to shine in playoffs, I would like to see him with Knicks in the MSG, he has the type of character to thrive there and I'm sure he would love it.

I agree on trading Embiid I don’t think he is the type of guy to lead you to a title. Pouts to much, has way to many long stretch’s during the game where is giving little to no effort of D, or rebounding. I think he’s a font runner who always seems to be gassed by the 4th cuz he’s still not in top shape. He should look like the Greak Freak and lose the extra 20 pounds of Big Mac diet habits. Just don’t think he a winner and his teammates know it IMO. We seem to be happier when he’s not playing this year. I wonder if our winning percentage is higher when he’s out?
