Absolute disgrace if this is the case, we gave the kid false hope, we are the worst of the worst if this is confirmed.

This G league team with McClung and Springer looks like a real fun to watch!
Anyway, I don't know how anyone expected Mac was going to get playing time with the Sixers, they waived Joe who is a legitimate NBA player.

the Blue Coats are definitely a lot of fun to watch and have plenty of talent beside McClung/Springer. Lou King is a really good well-rounded player who's unselfish and and does a lot of little things to help the team win that don't show up in the boxscore, and then there's a bunch of other guys like Charlie Brown Jr, Mike Foster, Braxton Key, and Patrick McCaw who all can play at a high level.
I can't see McClung getting any time this season for Philly (unless they rest some guys and bring him up for depth in a game or two) but if he keeps up the level of play he's shown so far this season, I do think he'll impress at summer league and training camp and have a shot to stick on the main roster going forward. King also ought to get a serious look from the Sixers and would be a really good depth piece with his size, defense, and handle/shooting combo. Both guys are very tough, hard-nosed players that bring a lot of energy every night with Delaware.

Re: Welcome Mac McClung
I know it's one game but is McClung eligible to play on our playoff roster? If so, I wouldn't mind seeing him get some burn in the playoffs. He’s the closest thing we have to a backup PG on our roster although him and Maxey would be a nightmare (and not in a good way) defensively.

He can definitely be a backup PG in this league, he showed a lot of things yesterday.

Re: Welcome Mac McClung
yeah, yesterday was more confirmation for me that McClung's improvement has reached the point where he can legitimately contribute to an NBA bench somewhere next season. The Nets were just playing a bunch of backups like Philly, but those are the types of guys Mac would mostly be seeing time against, and the kid looked pretty good for it only being his fourth career NBA game.

We're going to let Shake go I think in the offseason. Mac can step in and be the backup point guard if we feel he's ready. Personally I'd like to see both him and Springer on the roster next year...Possibly Louis King too.

Re: Welcome Mac McClung
I still have concerns with his defense translating. If he's not going to be a plus on defense, then he needs to be an elite distributor, which he is not. I'm not ready to give meaningful time to him. I'd be more inclined to go with Louis King getting legit time over him of the two way guys.
