He will be in other team next year and he will be a very useful player there .

Re: The Fate of Shake Milton
Its a shame he gets buried on bench. Sixers are actually 20-6 when Shake gets 20+ minutes.
Solid player that will thrive somewhere else next year.

Definitely been a symbiotic relationship between the Sixers and Shake. I’m glad he’s proven himself to be worthy of sticking around the league and I hope he gets a chance to have a larger role (and get a larger contract) elsewhere. He’s just not going to get it here.

Re: The Fate of Shake Milton
It's annoying that we drafted a shooter to be a shooter and then he stopped shooting.
Shake has been here for 5 years and I enjoyed some of what he provided us. But if his game now is just a secondary playmaker who occasionally does nifty stuff inside the arc, I think it's time for both parties to move on.
Our role players have to be willing shooters and/or active defenders. He is neither.

Exactly, well said. He is a good shooter but doesn't shoot much. He handles the ball OK but isn't really a point guard. Never been accused of being a good defender either. Kinda just does everything at an average level rather than fitting a specific role.
Def an NBA caliber rotation player off the bench, but with Harden Maxey and Melton, I don't see a ton of minutes there.

Re: The Fate of Shake Milton
Shake goes crazy in undermanned situations and big minutes, reminds me of past expansion draft stars who shine as the main guy on an underpowered new team. The Tony Campbell All Stars kind of a career path.

Re: The Fate of Shake Milton
Shake is just a frustrating experience in general:
He is super long for a guard but is a poor defender, revamped his shoot only to be afraid to shoot, has great handles and instincts but has tunnel vision, etc.
He can be a micro scorer from the bench, but a lot of his scoring depends on him attacking the rim and he doesn't get enough fouls to be efficient at scoring unless his shots start to fall.
I like him though and he's still kind of young, i think he can keep expanding his game on a team where he gets minutes, i don't see how he gets resigned here.

Re: The Fate of Shake Milton
He's unfortunately phased out due to our depth. Before Maxey, Harden this current version of Shake would be a lead guard on this team averaging 18-19 ppg on efficient play.

Re: The Fate of Shake Milton
Shake is long and young, but the reason he dropped in the draft is still very true, Shake lacks explosion and quick twitch athleticism in general. He has gotten stronger which helps inside if he can turn the corner, but lacks the speed to turn that corner against good D. Has developed his shot with a medium speed release from three. He needs to learn to be a star in his role instead of just starring when he is the center of the offense.

He’s still an awfully useful guy to have around. You look at the way Boston has stocked up on guards who can handle the ball a bit, and score in multiple ways. Shake isn’t at the level of Brogdon/White, but you can’t have enough of those guys.

Re: The Fate of Shake Milton
I've seen people say give his minutes to Springer next season, What !!! I've been down on Shake a lot but to let him go for nothing will be such a waste. They guy has potential. Maybe not a starter but he can thrive here, maybe under a better coach. I would sign him.
You want it to be one way....but it's the other way.

Now that Maxey is back starting. Why can't we put the ball in his hands and play him with Embiid?

Re: The Fate of Shake Milton
If Harden leaves, I'd try to keep him. Has delivered solid numbers when he was given enough playtime. Maybe he can grow a bit and play next to maxey (big enough), so that we have a core 3 guard rotation with them + Melton.
Plus we can't afford losing him for nothing, maybe we can trade him next year, if necessary

We should absolutely bring back Shake if Harden leaves. That should be first priority in the off-season

Re: The Fate of Shake Milton
I'm fascinated to know what Morey thinks of Milton. I wonder if he was upset with Rivers for leaving Milton out of the playoff rotation.
