At least Himmy gets to the Finals before turning into a pumpkin. Unlike Tobias and Jo where the clock strikes midnight in the 2nd round everytime.

Not sure what game you were watching. While Butler indeed appeared lethargic for a significant portion of the 4th quarter, without him it's not even close.

4:43 Nikola Jokic makes 6-foot pullup jump shot (Kentavious Caldwell-Pope assists) 76 83
4:29 Jimmy Butler makes 24-foot three point jumper (Caleb Martin assists) 79 83
4:06 Kentavious Caldwell-Pope makes 25-foot three point jumper (Jamal Murray assists) 79 86
3:47 Jimmy Butler makes 26-foot three pointer 82 86
3:34 Michael Porter Jr. misses three point jumper 82 86
3:30 Caleb Martin defensive rebound 82 86
3:21 Aaron Gordon shooting foul 82 86
3:21 Nuggets Full timeout 82 86
3:21 (03:21) [Nuggets] COACH'S CHALLENGE (CALL STANDS) [Nuggets] charged with a timeout 82 86
3:21 Jimmy Butler makes free throw 1 of 3 83 86
3:21 Jimmy Butler makes free throw 2 of 3 84 86

Butler haters will spin zone anything to pretend not prioritizing him in 2019 was the right move.

Maybe he's not as good as you think he is.

Paired with Joel he would’ve helped elevate this team to a Finals appearance maybe 2 from 2020-2023.

Paired with a healthy Tyler Herro and Kevin Love in his prime they would've won this series.

This team, with that coach? You're very optimistic. He couldn't elevate them to a finals appearance when he was here. He helped them do they same thing they do every year.

Yeah I guess you can say he went 0/1. Meanwhile Embiid, Simmons, Tobias, Harden and the clown car of pretenders collectively have gone 0/6 since 2018.

On the flip side Jimmy has dragged a roster with arguably less talent on paper to the Finals twice and the conference finals three times in just 4 seasons.

I guess it's all speculation from all accounts, but what isn't speculation is what we saw when the Sixers were bounced in the last 4 postseasons.

I'll preface this by saying I have no issue with the way Jokic reacted to winning it all; it's his moment so do as you feel...

But, it's so funny how everyone is fanboying over Jokic showing no emotion after winning the championship. Like, NBA fans think that is the coolest thing ever.

These playoffs have made me kinda change my opinion and think that the Sixers should run it back. Not with the same roster, but with Embiid and Harden. I don't think there are any realistic viable alternatives. Still wouldn't give Harden 4+ years though, I stand by that. I'll go into more detail about why later.

Agree. It's supposed to be a big deal, especially when it's your first. Joker is a different cat.

Isn't there likely zero chance Harden goes anywhere for less than 4 years?

That is why I am on board with moving on and letting 2023-2024 be a transition year instead of trying to mash our square peg of a contender into a round hole once more.

I don't think any team is going to give him 4 guaranteed years.

He hit two 3-pointers. Period. Oh, and was the beneficiary of the single worst official review ever, getting three free throws when the only foul call should have been an offensive foul.

I love Butler as a player, but as usual you're being ridiculous. He was a virtual no-show for most of the finals, taking a passive, 'let the role players carry us' attitude. Adabayo and Lowry went down fighting, Martin and Strus showed ten times more grit than Butler in that series.

Hell, Jackson and Van Gundy were begging him to step up instead of letting the role players decide Miami's fate. You carry on like Rain Man about Embiid shrinking in big spots - Butler was flat out awful in the finals regardless of the silly spin you try to put on it.
