Ranking Our Current Trade Assets (Players and Picks)
I'm bored so I figured I'd ask this. How would you rank our current trade assets (both players and picks) based on value?
I would rank them as follows:
1. Embiid (duh if we're trading him right now we're obviously starting Process 2.0)
2. Maxey (would only trade him as part of a package for a better player in his prime right now)
3. 2028 unprotected Clippers first rounder (likely the primary asset needed to bring in another star(ish) player to complement Embiid & Maxey)
4. 2029 right to swap firsts with LAC (will also likely be used to acquire said star(ish) player.
5. Harris (easily our biggest expiring deal)
6. Springer (still very young w/ All NBA defense potential. If he develops a reliable jump shot, he will likely move up higher on this list)
7. Morris (2nd biggest expiring deal)
8. Melton (youngish productive 3 and D player who can play some PG on an expiring)
9. Martin (still only 22 with significant potential)
10. Oubre (is instant offense off the bench when he's on and is on a cheap expiring)
11. 2026 OKC first rounder (likely won't be very high but can still be used as a throw in if needed)
12. Batum (third biggest expiring and can still play a bit)
13. Covington (fourth biggest expiring)
14. 2026 second rounder
15. 2029 LAC second rounder
16. 2029 Sixers second rounder
17: Reed (still somewhat young. Can provide good defense and rebounding though I'm not sure that he'll ever become a reliable shooter).
18. Korkmaz (on a cheap expiring. May be able to get more playing time elsewhere).
19. 2029 Portland second rounder
20. House (defense and energy guy who's expiring)
21. Beverley (on a cheap one year vet minimum deal. Good leader.)
22. Bamba (on a cheap one year deal).
23. Everything else.

Yeah, I know I missed some but since a few of our own picks are dependent on when they are conveyed to OKC and Brooklyn, I left them off this list.

Melton has more value than Springer and Morris.

Disagree. Springer's age, size and upside make him a more valuable asset than Melton. Also Morris's $17+ million coming off the books after this season alone makes him more valuable than Melton IMO.

Re: Ranking Our Current Trade Assets (Players and Picks)
A like Springer, but it is his third year and he didnt play in two seasons. And he was a late first round pick(28?), dont think he has value around the league.
Maybe you can get a second round for him, but until he does in the NBA what we think he can do, he doesnt have trade value.
Not sure if you can get a first for Melton because he is a expiring, but 3 or 4 seconds for him I have zero doubts. He showed that he can be a good rotation player in competitive teams.

So big defensive minded guards have no value around the league? Remember he was buried for two years on Doc's bench. Doc isn't exactly a coach who's known for giving his younger players a lot of minutes. Obviously Springer has a lot to prove particularly on offense but he's shown flashes of becoming a great defensive player.
Melton is a good defensive albeit undersized guard who's a streaky shooter. I think he pretty much is who he is at this point.

They have value, but in two years Springer didnt show that he can be that in the league. He needs to play good basketball in the NBA, not the G-League, to get up his value.

I think around the league Melton has more value. I think within our fan base, Springer has more value. Melton has the reputation that Springer is currently lacking despite Melton being a worse player (in my opinion)

We should seriously consider cashing in on the trade value of Melton. He's not a long-term fit as a starter beside Maxey and I expect he'll get overpaid this summer. Plus Springer is waiting in the wings.

After the Suns game, Harris and Oubre has to move to 3&4.

One of OKC and the Clippers are bound to be good in 2026.

Re: Ranking Our Current Trade Assets (Players and Picks)
I think you can list Harris, Melton and the 2028 Clippers pick in any order between 3-6. "Win now" teams would surely have more interest in Melton than a pick 4 years from now and the fact that he'd cost less to acquire than Tobias Harris may make him a moree likely target by other teams than Tobias would be. A tier system might be the best way to make this type of list.
I think the 6ers should trade Melton, too wether its to acquire another 1st or to swap for a backcourt player with more point guard skills.
What's the balance between Melton and Alex Caruso assuming the Bulls continue their path to irrelevance?

OKC is going to run the league for the next decade. Their first is going to be trash.

Re: Ranking Our Current Trade Assets (Players and Picks)
I'd keep an eye on Zach Collins in SA. He's a FA next summer and could potentially be had for the MLE. After a couple injury plagued seasons he seems to have turned the corner.

I'm pretty sure I saw Zach Collins re-signed.
