Caleb Martin Appreciation Thread
Traded to Dallas. Another Morey signing that didn't exactly pan out. Good luck with the Mavs.

Wow, that’s a good trade for us almost shooting 40% from 3 and five years younger. I’ll take it.

Looking forward to him suddenly finding newfound health now that he's on a new team. I suspect he won't be missing many games with "hip sprains" and "goin strains" going forward. Just a hunch.

Dont think it was a bad signing, but with his injuries, and the team injuries there just wasn't time to get and become a cohesive unit with consistent rotations. I think they really like Edward's in that role.
Hope Drummond and Gordon are next

Thank you for the Christmas day game. Good luck in Dallas.
You want it to be one way....but it's the other way.

Re: Caleb Martin Appreciation Thread
Caleb Martin.
A few days ago, I was debating whether Caleb or Oubre would be the one traded. At first, I thought it would be Oubre since it felt like we were showcasing him with how well he was playing. But then, I started thinking we might actually be keeping our cards close, preparing for a push with George, Caleb, and Embiid fresh from their rest.
Caleb Martin is an X-factor player, similar to Marcus Smart and Al Horford—the kind of guy who does the little things to help you win, plays both ends, and brings intensity. But for some reason, he just didn’t fit with us, much like Al didn’t during his time here—except for that one game against the Celtics, where he shot like Steph Curry and helped us crush them. I’ll always appreciate that moment, especially because it demoralized their fanbase. I still remember the joy it brought me—I even checked Celtics podcasts afterward just for the schadenfreude.
Now, I expect Caleb to be Al Horford 2.0—someone who thrives elsewhere while we end up wishing we had a player like him. But this time, we’re not just dumping him with a first-round pick—we’re actually getting a player just as good plus a second-round pick in return.

There’s never been a time in history when we look back and say that the people who were censoring free speech were the good guys.

Solid signing, and a solid trade return. Aces all around, Caleb. Good luck in Dallas.

This. We decided to pivot to shooting and youth which is the smart move since we're not a contender this year. Hope Caleb does well when he's not facing us, and especially hope he continues killing the Saltics!

Re: Caleb Martin Appreciation Thread
Last season Caleb Martin shot 35% from 3 in the regular season and 44% from 3 in the playoffs on a significantly higher volume, which is completely crazy, but I guess you first need to get to the playoffs. Actually this season he was not worse for us than last regular season for Miami.

I really liked his Eric Snow type of contributions to the team. He was very special at doing the small things that don't show up in the stat sheet, especially with his hustle.

Tried hard and played good defense, really liked him as a culture guy but was never gonna trust that shot.
