2025 All-Star Weekend

Even All-Star weekend has got to be more entertaining than the Sixers at this point. Anyone else watching?

The last all-star game I watched was probably 25 years ago, when they still cared a little bit. It used to be must see TV in the '80's and early '90's, as was the dunk and 3-pt. contests, when stars used to compete.

Excuse me, but I need to go yell at a cloud.

My all-star idea is making it a two-on-two half-court tournament. There's a chance players take it more seriously since there's a bigger chance they can be personally embarrassed. Also, I think you could end up with some cool matchups that would highlight the strengths of each player.

I don't know what the answer is, but any "all star game" is not going to be respected by the all stars. Just give them the All Star designation and create some kind of World Cup light in-season type tournament. Int'l all stars this year were:

Giannis (Greece)
Jokic (Serbia)
SGA (Canada)
Wemby (France)
Sengun (Turkey)
Siakam (Cameroon)

Maybe the top 4 vote getters (Giannis, Jokic, SGA, Wemby) can bring their 4 best handpicked countrymen over to play and it's a tournament with games to 21.

Would add stakes to the USA all star team. Would encourage international voting. Could obviously add financial incentives. I think the one thing USA born top NBA players are starting, or should be starting, to get worried about is no longer being the dominant force of basketball with the rise of France (and Canada to a lesser extent). Fan those flames before we embarrass ourselves in the LA Olympics.

I like that the Rising Stars are in the tournament. For an all-star team to lose to 1st and 2nd years might be embarrassing enough that they'd start to care. And the young guys for sure want to win.

If you want the all star game to be competitive then all you have to do is make it to where the winning team (East vrs West) get automatic home court advantage in the Finals.

NBA vs. the World—that’s the only way to solve it. The champion earns the true “world champion” title. This includes the dunk contest, skills challenge, and three-point contest. Spoiled, privileged NBA players wouldn’t take it lightly, and teams could scout international prospects. Plus, it’d attract global viewers and attendees, boosting revenue.
There’s never been a time in history when we look back and say that the people who were censoring free speech were the good guys.

I do believe your assumption was actually wrong. As impossible as that might be to believe.

First time I haven't watched at all , not even highlights.

There's a possibility the sixers are killing my love for the sport :o lol

Glad it sucked so bad that it took any attention away from PG being a horn dog on the beach with his wife, lol.

That was so bad I'm actually looking forward to Sixers basketball. It'll last a few minutes into the first quarter but that's neither here nor there.
