It's never really mattered but it's interesting seeing Kon already dispelling the lazy narratives that were surrounding him heading into this draft cycle.

People looked at Kon's 20? off the dribble 3pt attempts at Duke and said that he couldn’t do anything outside of c&s despite the fact that he was an amazing OTD shooter all throughout EYBL.

Also showed high levels of slashing / rim finishing / foul drawing etc while being an underrated defender and rebounder.

Guy is a dawg and a winner and well worth a top five pick. Will turn haters into fans as the years go by. Manu-lite.

Look at all of the NBA summer league MVPs. Decent list of players. Not sure if it means anything.

I like Kon. I like Tre better, but I do like him. Not sure who I like better between VJ and Kon, both will be good. That first game from Kon was brutal though, and some might say that may be more indicative of how things will go when he’s going against better competition. Ace laid a turd, then had a great game. Does that validate his fans too? Tre looked virtually unstoppable every game he played in. All that to say, it’s probably too early to declare victory on any of these guys.
always a jump shot away.

True, I'm sure it'll fluctuate. It was a fun class to get #3 in for the sake of discourse because it was consensually viewed as the wrong end of a tier break.

From the highs of the draft lottery to the war torn draft threads, it was a... fun experience for the board.

I did come around to Tre as the draft process drew nearer but until he proves me wrong, I'm still convinced that his archetype is less valuable to Kon/VJ. Nobody can question his shot creation and shooting, but I don't think it's enough for him to establish himself as a winning player.

This class will be an interesting one to follow over the next years because everyone was so strongly convinced about different players and only time will tell who was ultimately right lmao.

Yeah man, I think this was a pretty sick draft class. I think there’s a real possibly the whole first round will be good

That’s probably my #1 takeaway from summer league - this years class looks like a great one. Tons of talent across the board and even some late first rounders like Nique Clifford looks like they can be excellent players. Add on the variety & talent of bigs in this class in this draft - Hansen Yang, Maluach, Queen, etc. - and you have the makings of something special.

The “violence” I chose today.. is I found Dylan Harper has been underwhelming. His jumper looks flat, his handle with the off hand is shaky, and he lacks the burst to consistently beat defenders in the halfcourt.

I also think he needs to play his high usage style, which he likely won’t get with the Spurs given their “developmental runway” approach. That said, he clearly has the combination of size and skill to be a special talent at the guard position, but he’ll need the right opportunity, roster set-up and continued development to reach that ceiling.

I think a lot of people feels the same way but it’s too early to make hot takes after 2 games.
There’s never been a time in history when we look back and say that the people who were censoring free speech were the good guys.
