A dark horse to aquire Amare is Toronto. They have some young guys, and bc of the Colangelo connection. An Amare-Bosh front court would be very nice.

In a weird way, we got some good news today when a member of the Phoenix F.O. said that the team will NOT be trading any of their core players and are going to allow them to make another run at a championship.

In order for us to even enter the Amare talks... the Suns would need to wait until this summer to deal him and not before the deadline.

why would we want him? I mean I know why we would want him, but will that knee be great in four or five years?

I think this is a chance of medium risk/high reward. Anyone with a knee injury in their past is going to be questionable but he's been solid since coming back.

I'm willing to take the risk in this situation.

to Phoenix- Camby and Reggie Evans

What do we think? We could use the cap room to sign Calderon in the summer.

Im gonna tweak your idea.

How about:

to Philly- Amare
to Denver- Miller and Utah's #1 pick from Korver trade
to Phoenix- Nene, Rodney Carney and Phillys 08 1st Round Pick

(Summary: We Give up Carney, Miller and 2 Firsts for Amare)

I see no way Amare is dealt unless the Suns get a relatively big name back. I have seen very few proposals that meet this.

The closest I could come would be us sending #1 + Iguodala + Smith +Trade exemption (cap space)

-but I doubt that this would be enough, as Iguodala and Smith is not enough to keep them in contention while Nash is still playing at his high level- but at least it gives them a name (iguodala) money and a pick.

I really doubt we will be part of a deal for him because they would want a big name Center in exchange, and Sam is not a big enough name to satisfy them.

As of right now I agree with you, but if the suns fall short yet again, this type of deal may be possible in the offseason depending on where the sixers are drafting
