1. Over/Under for Wins is 32, which do you have?
Under (hopefully)
2. Who is the Sixers' MVP thru 41 games?
Close, but I would say Miller with Dalembert being second.
3. Who is the biggest disappointment thru 41 games?
Carney and it's not even close.
4. Has Mo Cheeks done an acceptable job?
Yea, but some of his antics are puzzling at best.
5. Should Mo Cheeks be the coach of this team next season?
Depends, if we get a big name FA and a top 5 pick we will probably compete for a high playoff spot by next year, so I wouldn't want Cheeks coaching that team.
6. Which player has the brightest future on this team?
Iguodala right now, but Thad still has a lot of room to grow and has the potential to be a 25+ PPG scorer.
7. Should the Sixers play their starters (Green and Evans) as much as possible and push for the playoffs or should they play their young players (Young and Smith) at the cost of winning games?
Young guys
8. What would you rather see: The Sixers as the 8th seed in the playoffs or the Sixers with the 5th worst record?
5th worst record.
9. What position is the team's biggest need?
PF
10. Do you believe this team is headed in the right direction?
I guess, I still think we're winning too many games. Miller still needs to be moved (or at least someone else for expirings).
Under (hopefully)

Solid answer guys. It seems that a large majority of the posters feel the following way....
- We will finish with UNDER 32 wins
- Sam Dalembert is this team's MVP
- We should play our young players as much as possible
- Mo is doing an acceptable job but doesn't seem to have everyone's confidence going forward.
- It seems like everyone is back in the same spot and rooting for losses than wins and yet everyone feels like the team is headed in the right direction.
Good job answering the questions!!
So.... as fans, are we in tank mode???

Re: Mid-Season Review (16-25)
A good set of questions.
1. Lean towards under. Either because of Stefanski trading a player or two by the deadline, or urging Cheeks to tank the season in the final month or so.
2. Comcast-Spectacor, for finally firing BK.
3. Carney. DiLeo has to be kicking himself for not recommending Brewer or Rondo.
4. No. Substitutions are poor, ball movement is atrocious.
5. No
6. No idea. Could make arguments for Iguodala, Dalembert, LW, or Thad. And maybe even Smith.
7. Start Green and Evans for now out of the hope that some GM will like what he sees.
8. 5th worst record....I think.
9. PF, obviously.
10. Yes, mostly.

The Guilty Party wrote:Well... in case you haven't noticed, we have now crossed over to the dark side of the season and entered the 2nd half with a record of 16-25. Rather than do "mid-season grades" which tend to either be a lot of A's or F's... I figured we could just have a quick survey.
What's your answer to the following questions?
1. Over/Under for Wins is 32, which do you have?
*** Under, but just, let's say 30.
2. Who is the Sixers' MVP thru 41 games?
*** Dalembert. Period.
3. Who is the biggest disappointment thru 41 games?
*** Iguodala. He can't carry the team but he wants a franchise player-like max contract? Um, no!
4. Has Mo Cheeks done an acceptable job?
*** Yes. This team plays hard every game.
5. Should Mo Cheeks be the coach of this team next season?
*** No. The new GM should bring in his own guy and, for some reason, I don't think its him. I wonder if Frank would be available. NJ is slumping big time. They're a season-ending injury to Kidd away from fading into mediocrity.
6. Which player has the brightest future on this team?
*** Louis Williams.
7. Should the Sixers play their starters (Green and Evans) as much as possible and push for the playoffs or should they play their young players (Young and Smith) at the cost of winning games?
*** Kids. Like it or not, this team does not have a lot of basketball talent it takes to win a lot of games. Unless you consider Giricek talent.
8. What would you rather see: The Sixers as the 8th seed in the playoffs or the Sixers with the 5th worst record?
*** Either way is fine.
9. What position is the team's biggest need?
*** Scoring PF. Dalembert is turning into Camby so a scoring PF would complement him just fine. Wouldn't Bosh be perfect with Sammy?
10. Do you believe this team is headed in the right direction?
*** Yes. There are some good young pieces here, this team plays defense and has cap room to add a piece or two. Hopefully the Sixers get lucky in the lottery.

Tank Johnson, baby.
We need the strongest bargaining chips we can muster for this summer. I rank Iggy's rights as #1. But our draft pick might be the second most valuable asset. I want the highest lottery pick we can get - and not necessarily for drafting from that position. So we can dangle it in a blockbuster deal involving Iggy and cap space. I love the Sixers. Which is precisely why I say:
Tank, tank, tank.
People will counter by pointing to the Boston Celtics. They'll say they tanked and karma spun them out of the top 3. But look at what they did with their 5th pick. They flipped it for Ray Allen, which ultimately made Beantown appealing to KG. They became a contender overnight. Not saying the Sixers have Al Jefferson-type pieces to deal. But if they get a top 5 pick, perhaps they could make a run at Amare.
Tank away.

1. Over/Under for Wins is 32, which do you have? Push
2. Who is the Sixers' MVP thru 41 games? - Andre Miller
3. Who is the biggest disappointment thru 41 games? - Rodney Carney
4. Has Mo Cheeks done an acceptable job? - Yes
5. Should Mo Cheeks be the coach of this team next season? - It Depends. I would be willing to replace Mo if the right coach was available, but I'm also completely content to extend Mo as long as such a coach isn't available. I also think a lot varies on the 2nd half of the season. If the team imporves it helps Mo's cause, if they give up on him, it doesn't
6. Which player has the brightest future on this team? - Iguodala
- I'm still not completely sold on Young.
7. Should the Sixers play their starters (Green and Evans) as much as possible and push for the playoffs or should they play their young players (Young and Smith) at the cost of winning games? - It's a balance, you need to evaluate all players equally to determine which players have a future here.
8. What would you rather see: The Sixers as the 8th seed in the playoffs or the Sixers with the 5th worst record? - 5th Worst Record
9. What position is the team's biggest need? - Low Post Scoring Presence
10. Do you believe this team is headed in the right direction? - Yes - No where but up...
2. Who is the Sixers' MVP thru 41 games? - Andre Miller

What's your answer to the following questions?
1. Over/Under for Wins is 32, which do you have?
- Depends on if we keep Miller. If we keep him, over. If we deal him, under. I see about 20 winable games left on the schedule. We will lose some of them, but we will also win some of the non-winable games so I think it will even out.
2. Who is the Sixers' MVP thru 41 games?
- Tie: Andre Miller and Sam Dalembert
- Miller because he provides leadership on offense.
- Dalembert because without him we have no interior defense.
3. Who is the biggest disappointment thru 41 games?
- Carney - makes me look like a fool for supporting the draft pick.
- Runner-up - Herbert Hill - not his fault due to injury, but I was really looking forward to seeing if he has NBA skills. I really liked him at Providence last year.
4. Has Mo Cheeks done an acceptable job?
- Acceptable? Absolutely. This team has overachieved IMO based on our rosters talent level compared to all our opponents talent level. They play hard and never give up in games. For that, I give Mo a lot of credit.
5. Should Mo Cheeks be the coach of this team next season?
- Depends on the direction Ed wants to go in. If he has a certain style he wants to team to play, and there is a coach available who fits that style, then make the switch. I'd also be content with giving Mo a couple more years to see what he can do. Just needs to be a coach who can coach the style of players Ed intends to bing in.
6. Which player has the brightest future on this team?
- Young - very impressed by what he has shown at his age. I have no doubt he's going to be a very good player in this league.
7. Should the Sixers play their starters (Green and Evans) as much as possible and push for the playoffs or should they play their young players (Young and Smith) at the cost of winning games?
- Should be a balance (at least until the trade deadline). I don't care who starts, but the young guys need to get significant development minutes this year (especially after the deadline).
8. What would you rather see: The Sixers as the 8th seed in the playoffs or the Sixers with the 5th worst record?
- 5th worst record - the 8th seed gets a quick exit in the 1st round. No point in that this year. Once we have the core 5 starters assembled I would prefer the 8th seed, but since that's not going to happen this year, I'd prefer a higher lotto pick.
9. What position is the team's biggest need?
- PF - no doubt about this. They need a back to basket PF who can attract the D's attention down low.
10. Do you believe this team is headed in the right direction?
- Yes - adding Thad this year was a piece to the puzzle. Hopefully we add another piece or two through the draft/FA/trades this offseason. It's a start.
