Does anyone else find it amusing that whenever trade for Miller is floated in the media, posters from other teams show up feeling that Miller is worthless, shouldn't go to their team and is not worth a bag of balls.
I guess these fans don't get to actually watch him play- and assume that if he doesn't shoot three's, dunk or show up on sportscenter that he must be a bum.
I assume GM's are better informed, and realize the high level Miller plays at, and the impact he could have on the several teams that are a good pg from contending.

Spykes, don't mean to focus this rant at you- we've just have had a number of clowns from other boards who imply Miller is some kind of washed up bum with no value. He's not Jason Kidd, but he is a top 2nd level pg likely with another few good years in the tank (and contract expires next year.) I would want to keep him here if our core wasn't 3-4 years from peaking.
Fans look at their young, mistake prone players and are quick to label them as untouchables and the future "fill in the blank superstar." Just like Miami fans with Dorell Wright and Boston fans with Gerald Green.
Funny how those players are no longer the next TMac?
Yet, a rock solid vet who can score, run a team and does countless little things to win games (rebounds, low post scoring, draws fouls, controls the tempo, timely scoring), but is no longer young and doesn't make highlight reel plays- and he's viewed as completely worthless...

you are wise my friend. i agree 100%.
and spykes, honestly i have no idea how good that trade would be for portland. i was laughing at the idea that they'd be the first to reject it as, surely, however bad it is for the blazers, it's worse for the sixers.

Would consider the Portland deal. The Sixers would still have their #1, still have some cap space in the off season, and added some talented depth to the team. None of the returning players are superstars, but I do like Outlaw...Frye and Blake are upgrades to the overall depth.
Who knows...I still think Miller is gone, but if they gain more ground on the 8th seed before the deadline, they may hold off.

Honestly, Miller is the only thing keeping this team afloat. If you throw Lou Will into that starting PG position, we are lookin' at a #1 pick worthy team (well, more so than right now).
That's why I say we trade him.
In order to get ourselves back to being a legitimate team in the East, we have to have a top 3 pick, and money to get a quality front-court free agent. With that, on top of Thad Young and Jason Smith developing, we will have an overall young team that can compete with anyone in the East (could be a lot like what the Trail Blazers have

  ).
The Portland deal is a joke, because the Blazers know they have something special, and are not going to trade away very key parts for an aging Andre Miller.
W/e deal gets us the most in terms of picks, and expiring contracts should be done, IMO.

Why not work a 3-way trade?THFM wrote:The only reason why I don't like the portland trade is because we get no expirings what so ever, and that really doesn't help but I do like Frye a lot as our PF. We don't need Blake or Outlaw.
How about Ricky Davis for Frye & Blake?[/quote]IggyTheBEaST wrote:Blake- Not interested.
Frye- Not interested.
Outlaw- Interested, but like sixersftw said, redundant?
