I think we were just as good as the Giants at the end of the season. We just had a few unlucky breaks that went against us early in the year.

I'd prefer to keep McNabb and go for it next year, but I also realize we are built pretty nicely for the long-term. We already have a QB we're grooming for the future in Kolb, we have 3 good young d-linemen signed to long term contracts, our lb corps is actually a strength instead of a weakness, and we always make sure we have depth on the o-line.

The fact that we have so much young talent locked up long term means we can afford to sacrifice some draft picks/cap room for a big time acquisition,(IE. a Chad Johnson) but it also gives us the option to "rebuild" in a very quick fashion if we decide to trade McNabb.

If they're offering the 8th overall pick for McNabb I think that's an offer you have to seriously consider. I like McNabb, but if things don't go well next year, it's very unlikely he comes back for 2009. The size of his contract almost guarantees he'll have to restructure to return to the team, and if we aren't back to competing for a championship I don't think McNabb's going to want to restructure to stay here. I'd rather start Kolb a year early and have the Ravens #8 pick than be stuck with having to trade McNabb for beans or cut him in the 2009 off-season.
