OAKLAND - The 76ers today waived Gordan Giricek, the 6-5 swingman acquired from the Utah Jazz in the trade for Kyle Korver.
By waiving Giricek, the Sixers will save about $300,000 in payroll. Once he clears the 48-hour waiver period, he is expected to sign for the remainder of the season with the Phoenix Suns.
To be playoff eligible, he had to be waived by midnight tomorrow.

The move leaves the Sixers with 14 players, one below the NBA limit. They are not expected to add anyone

Maybe we get to see the first appearance of Herbert Hill? Maybe Shav makes a comeback to the active roster?

I really would like to see Herb especially now after the knee problems to see if he is even useful as a player

Herbert Hill is OUT for the season. As for Shav? Who knows. Really sad. Shav was coming along to be a potential starter, remember?
Sad for both the Organization and Shav himself. Luck hits this guy's ass far too many times to count.
