I don't disagree with what you said psykosacul but those three franchises are possibly the three most dysfunctional franchises in the league today so comparing us to them isn't exactly a good comparison when Stefanski and Comcast has shown themselves to be a more competent group than the messes in Atlanta, Chicago, and New York.

the comparison is just to show the idea that collecting a bunch of young talent doesnt lead to winning. you have to think about the issues of chemistry, veteran leadership, and role playing. if andre miller were 3 or 4 years older, i could see everyone up in arms about keeping him because iggy, thad louis and dalembert are so young, but this guy is in the prime of his playing career and will be plenty capable for the next 3 or 4 years of leading those young guys to wins.

if the team trades him, i wont blow a gasket because he isnt some unsung superstar. but he is VERY important to this team (and every team he has ever played on) and i wish the current fans would appreciate what he is worth to us, instead of trying to ship him out at every opportunity.

because nothing is ever good enough. everyone wants a 12 man squad full of 22 year olds who score 25 pts a game, grab 9 boards and 8 assists a game. also they need to be crazy athletic, jump through the roof, be the best dunker in the game and shoot 44% from beyond the arc.

fact is... andre miller has won more games for this team this season than andre iguodala has and still fans cant wait to get rid of him because they have some strange fantasy that we will develop a 10 year dynasty by building a team full of guys who dont know how to win and have no experience. - when really, all you become when you do that is the modern day bulls, hawks, or knicks.

I agree with you- it has been a pleant surprise seeing this team start to turn the corner without being a bottom five team for a few years waiting for a savior.

I don't know how this jibed with your other comments about being willing to let Iguodala and Lou walk if they ask for too much. They are two of our young players who have actually established themselves as legit NBA talent- while still having more upside.

I realize we can't get ourselves in a salary hole- but overpaying a bit in a post rookie contract doesn't get you in cap hel- overpaying for players on their 3rd contracts like CWebb, AI and Jason Kidd gets you salary problems. Those guys get 20M while even with a max deal Dala would get paid 13M next year- which would be the same as Richard Jefferson is making- and Dala wont get a max deal.

If we are paying Iguodala 10-12M next year and Sam about the same, it still leaves a lot of space to acquire a real big name player and still stay under the tax (if the cap wasn't a limiting factor you could add a 18M player and Dala at 11M and still be below the tax without cutting a single player.)

I would not be surprised to see Andre Miller end his career as a Sixer and play on 2 All-Star teams before his career is over. He is absolutely loved by the fans, teammates, management, and his skills will be showcased with this team.

I think Andre Miller is enjoying himself more than at anytime in his career. I think he believes the Sixers are on the move toward the top and possibly even a championship ... He will stay.
