When did speculation become a given?

my thinking is Baron Davis is the key for this team. He is a free agent after the season if I am not mistaken. His ability jibes very well with the up and down style of this team. Get him and trade for J smoove or A. Biedrins and we have a top 5 team in the East. What do you think?

I like Baron Davis well enough. When he's on, he's as good as just about anybody.

I just don't see the wisdom of focusing limited resources on a position that is already an incredible strength for this team.

That leaves cash to bring back two of their 3 other guys. Here in the bay area (where I live) they think Pietrus is the odd man out. And they are okay with that because they have Bellineli in their back pocket.

There is no chance GSW keeps Ellis for only $5-$6MIL. Ellis is EASILY going to command the same amount of money that Kevin Martin got in Sacramento (5 years/$55MIL) and probably more since Memphis may make a run at him.

Forgive me, but I do not understand the logic behind trading Andre Miller in an attempt to get Baron Davis. I wouldn't trade Andre Miller for Baron Davis straight up.

Well....Despite the team's success it's not a given that they will keep A.M. In fact there is a rumor started by A. Gargano stating that we'll trade him on draft night to move up in the draft. Also, I am not convinced that he wants to stay. And..........B/c he is an older player I am not so sure he will continue to play at this level next year or beyond that.

That being the case, a guy like BD who basically is the full package would be ideal for this team. He's not 30 yet, can score and distributes the ball. If we could be so lucky as to trade A.M. for B.D. with something extra I'm all over it like a fat kid on cake.

Interesting.
What current PF under contract for 10 million would fit (in trading our 10 mil capspace + players)?
