Haslem has been dogging it for quite awhile. With so much time on his hands, Haslem probably knows all the words to the new Jordan Sparks songs. I expect Haslem to be watching American Idol tomorrow and Wednesday.Haslem has quite an act. It's time for devine intervention to kick in during the draft.

Beasley is that good. It would not shock me if Pat Riley was ordered back by David Stern, but it's possible they are keeping it quiet. Beasley has the entire package. I will settle for Jason Thompson, who outplayed Beasley earlier in the season, as Rider lost at K State. Thompson scored 25 with double figure rebounds. I would love to see the 76ers take Thompson or Love. Thompson can also play some center at 6ft 11". He played center in college, but will play mostly at PF.

Indeed. But I do believe that this draft has a great deal of talent from top to bottom. This is the kind of draft where a NBA team's front office will be earning their pay check because I feel that quite a few sleepers will develop from this draft much like Kevin Martin, Michael Redd, and Ben Wallace.

I say your right on target. This is a homework draft. It's time for Ed to cash in.

Well, you could add in another concept. You could give every team selected for the top five choices an EQUAL CHANCE at every position in those top 5 spots. That way there would be no point in tanking to get the worst record anyway ... of course, you might still get some tanking to get into the 5 chosen ones so you could have a chance at the top spot.

Beyond that, I am pretty much out of ideas. If teams are determined to lose games to better their drafting position there is really not much you can do to stop them. About the best you can do is try to make it less rewarding.

I am wondering what you mean't by ... that rule wouldn't apply to them.
Did you mean it wouldn't have made any difference ?

It a whole other thing for a team to have a beat up player, and decide to shut down all if iuts starters because it better suits their long term plans.

Why? Why should they play Wade while he's fighting through injuries? What good does it do them?

I actually don't think Miami's tanking. They're 10 games away from the second worst team with 17 to go. There's no way they catch second place. What incentive do they have to tank? What incentive do they have to play Wade through injuries? If they told Marion to fake an injury, WHEN MARION IS POTENTIALLY PLAYING FOR HIS NEXT CONTRACT, why would Marion agree?

it was a bad choice of words. what i was trying to convey was that memphis and atlanta had multiple top 5 picks in a five year span however the list of rules you made wouldnt of effected any of the outcomes.

isn't pat riley also the GM of the Heat? if they're gonna make a rule about banning GMs from scouting, then Stefanski wouldnt of been able to go to scout the PAC 10 recently.
