TOP TEN PROSPECTS

Post#1 » by NewBeginings » Sun Mar 23, 2008 7:27 pm

I started this thread to try and get a better understanding of who other fans consider to be prospects, how long a player has to be in the league before he stops being considered a prospect, and who would be your particular top ten.

Also, I would be interested hear how the older european rookies are viewed.(i.e. JCN Mem, Scola Hou, Oberto SAS (last year). Do these guys fall under the "prospect" umbrella or because of their seasoning overseas not as much?

Anyway, here is my top ten. (IN ORDER)

1.Greg Oden
2. Andrew Bynum
3. Al Horford
4. Thad Young
5.Andray Blatche
6.Travis Outlaw
7.Mike Conley
8.Andrea Bargnani
9. David Lee
10.Ronnie Brewer

Note: I know I dont have Durant on the list, but IMO anytime a 19yro rookie can put up 20+ regardless of fg%, he does not fall in this category to me.

4)Al Horford
5)Thaddeus Young
6)Brandan Wright
7)Andray Blatche
8)Sean Williams
9)Joakim Noah
10)Javaris Crittenton

Its hard to define prospect. if a young player is already good like Bynum or Durant, but has upside, are they still no longer a prospect?

I would like to see a top[ 10 under 25 and under 22 list.

The Under 25 would be headlined by Lebron and Howard, and include names like Iguodala, Gay and Roy.

The Under 22 top 10 would be headlined by Bynum, and include Durant, Lou and Thad.
