The worst thing about BK (besides his inability to negotiate a contract) was his lack of a consistent direction for the team. If you're going to rebuild, rebuild. If not, then compete. Trying to keep a toe dipped in both pools when you've got limited resources leads to mediocrity. He waited too long to try and get value for Iverson and start that entire process.

He did have some things he did well though.

- He drafted fairly well and even did decently with 2nd round picks.
- Most of the time, despite picking the wrong direction to move in, he got fair value in trades.
- He's charismatic in interviews and things most of the time.

Mo deserves most of the credit for the way he's gotten these guys to play, but if I'm going to credit one GM credit for obtaining these guys (BK), I'm going to give the other GM credit for clearing up the rotation so that Young could play by trading Korver and I'm going to give him credit for instructing his coaches that they are to play a faster style of ball.

In the end, the majority of the credit goes to Mo and the players.

Good article on Stefanski's impact:

Mo getting a contract might of helped with overcoming the slow start because he was coaching for a job. Didn't want to put those young guys in yet.

That pretty well sums things up. The improvement in the Sixers franchise is the result of a series of events. It began with the Denver trade, continued with the buyout of Webber, the drafting of Thadeus Young, ... all BK moves ... and then the firing of BK and hiring of ES ... Snider move, the trade of Korver ... ES move, the suggestion to play uptempo .. ES move and intertwined in all of it is the coaching by the coaches and the playing by the players ... It is all necessary ... Without them all, you would not have the success that has been shown.

A great job by all.
