dond:

I'm with you, bro...but if we can't find a way to get Brand, then who is this PF that you would take over Ellis?

Biedrins? (Too Sammy-like)

Wilcox? (What do you have to trade for him, and he only has one year left on his contract)

Randolph? (Erk)

Turiaf? (Don't go BK and overpay)

Like many Sixers fans, I have been trying to figure out how we are going to use our cap room to get this Boozer/Horford-like PF, and my puzzler is sore...

I agree...my hope is they get an athletic big man to play next to Sam such as Biedrens, and they go into next season starting Miller/Iguodala/Young/Biedrens/Dalembert. They talked about the Sixers being thought of in the form of Detroit's team concept playing at the pace of the Suns. Sam/Biedrens aren't as skilled as Wallace, but give you two long/athletic big men who won't slow down the pace and will be solid inside. Your bench is much stronger by moving Willie and Reggie into the bench picture with Lou, Carney and Smith...if they nail the draft pick and get some production there, it's a nice picture moving forward. Still need the 3 pt shooters...

Freshie, me and you are on the same page. That is assuming Miller will stay with us. I think if we go past the first round in the playoffs this year, then make a big step to upgrading our team in the offseason, that might convince him to stay on board. I like Lwill alot, but im still not sold on him as the pg of the future just yet. I am however, sold on Thaddeous big time. Hes a starter. Period. If we land another starter this summer, I really like our team. Evans and Green, like you said, are Solid Bench players. Moving them to the wood just makes us that much deeper. Problems arise when you try to play bench guys in starter minutes, but if we fix that by adding a starting caliber PF and move Young to the 3 and Dala to the 2, our future isnt looking as dim as we thought.

I take Biedrens over Ellis. He's a fantastic little scorer, but we've been down that path before, and I'd prefer another route. Add that he's only a 23% shooter from 3pt range, and I don't know that adding him without shaking up other positions makes sense.

I know not everyone is on board, but Iguodala at the 2 and Thad at the 3 seems to be the future...give me a few more quality big men and keep with the defense/running approach that has been successful. As Iguodala and Thad continue to improve in the half court, they should be able to run most of the half court offense through the swing players.

I'm gonna predict that Ed uses the cap space creatively. I think he'll take a one year salary in order to get another pick to grab the big man in the draft that he wants. I'd love to see them grab Thabeet & Love. Then I think he'll grab a FA shooter for short money much like Boston grabbed Eddie House for 1/2 of the MLE. Since Eddie House is an UFA maybe they'll grab him.
