Supposedly they offered him $12MIL per and he turned it down in October. If they can get him for that or less, I think they'll match. Of course, if Emeka wants out and lets them know it... perhaps they would be willing to do a sign and trade if someone wanted to max him out.

Is Emeka a max player? I don't think so. He's a really solid rebounder and defender but that's not what this team needs next to Sam which is why I said that Zach Randolph could be an option. I'm starting to really believe that we're better off going after cheaper players like Charlie V or Ty Thomas for next season rather than dump a ton of cash in Okafor, Randolph, or Odom.

By getting Villanueva or Thomas, we could plug them into our system and try them out at PF next season. If we see that they don't fit, we would still have our cap flexibility plus Andre Miller's expiring contract to make a move should a "sure thing" PF become available during the season or next summer.

We can offer about 5yr/66M.

This assumes a 1st year salary of 10.5M, with the max 12.5% raise each year. I doubt that is quite enough to get the players we want, but it is a lot.

We need a player who wants to come here enough to pressure their club into a sign and trade (by threatening to sign a 1 year tender and become a UFA next year.) Players/agents have leverage if they want to use it.

I would be concerned with TT's attitude if it wasn't for the fact that just about everyone on his team has publicly gone off that coach and/or front office. TT's only incident this season was that he missed a practice. He didn't publicly speak about the coach or anyone else and apparently felt extremely frustrated by the situation in Chicago and decided he was better off staying away from the gym that day.

Is that a good thing? No, but to me... that's better than what Noah, Duhon, Gray, and others have done. It is also worth noting that Paxson said that the main cause for concern about Thomas missing practice was that he's there early every day so it was way out of the norm.

I still have faith that that if Thomas (and half of the Chicago roster) were moved to a team with a functional front office and coaching staff that he could develop into the stud PF that a lot of people believe he can become.

I would welcome Brand, but this is our guy for the short and long term. Put him next to Sammy, and off we go.

can someone let me know how Okafor is any different than Brendon Haywood? I mean Im looking at the numbers and the size and the age and I don't see a difference. Ok maybe a slight difference just one get paid 4 million and the other is asking for 12-15.

It must be the "potential thing."

3 points and 3 rebounds is more than a slight difference

And that's not even mentioning the fact that Haywood's numbers aren't exactly in line with his career.

Not a bad night for Brand:

19 points on 50% shooting, 8 rebounds, 3-4 FTs, and 4 blocked shots. Clippers still got killed by Houston though.
2025-2026 Philadelphia 76ers:

Maxey/McCain/Lowry
Grimes/Edgecombe/Gordon
Oubre/Edwards/Council
George/Watford/Walker
Embiid/Bona/Drummond/Broome

Biedrens is an RFA, not a player's option UFA.

Return to Philadelphia 76ers
