BK was fired because the terrible job he did during his entire time at the Sixers.
thats got nothing to do with Ed.
Which doesn't disprove the fact that Ed has taken entire more credit for the Sixers resurgence than he has earned. This is a credit to Mo, a credit to the players, and yes, even a credit to Billy King and his drafting. This has very little to do with Ed.

I've been soaking in the league wide respect for the last 2 months...
FYI... watching the Clips/Lakers game on TNT... one of the commentators asked Reggie Miller if Thornton should be on the All Rookie Team and Reggie responded by saying, 'Horford and Durant have to be on there and I like that kid from Georgia Tech out in Philly, Thaddeus Young.' Its nice to see Thad getting props from a guy like Miller.

We tried to dump Reggie Evans? That is news to me. Also he said we tried to trade Miller for Jason Williams, I am pretty sure we would have been getting back more than just Williams.
Also he said the Nuggets had to clear a back court slot for their newly acquired superstar. That is just wrong, Karl didn't want to part with Miller he only did because the Sixers insisted he was part of the deal.

I don't like Thad's chances. But, if Durant is considered a guard, he has a chance. I think it will be..
C: Horford
PF: Scola
SF: Green or Moon
SG: Durant
PG: Navarro?/Conley?
Stats usually dictate rookie teams, and Thad's are lower than Moon's and Green's.

no one disprove that.
but the writer makes it look like Ed S. was trying to hurt the team by trading Korver and trying to deal Evans , and saying that Mo had to play the kids because he had no choice.
the writer may feel that BK got done wrong because he was fired but there is no need to make Ed S. look like he doesnt know what he is doing.
if the writer has problems with BK being fired he should take them with Ed Snider.

That was my understanding of the situation also. However, I don't know that for sure. Do you know that for sure ? If so .... how ?

Agree with the broad sentiment here except for one key word: Ed hasn't taken more credit than he deserves, he's been given more credit than he deserves. Ed's the first one to argue the credit falls to Cheeks and the players.

Wow...I mean...wow. This crap article was on nba.com? The only thing he said of note was this:
I almost feel dumber after reading the whole thing.
Here's a couple of points that should've been considered before this article was posted:
It's widely acknowledged that BK was good at drafting. What he fails to mention is all the bad conctracts he gave out. He doesn't talk about the rotaing door of Larry Hughes, Tim Thomas, Keith Van Horn, Glenn Robinson, Chris Webber who were all failed attempts to give a supporting cast to Iverson. He doesn't mention that we had 3 first round picks last year and Billy failed to use them to move up in the draft to get the guy he really wanted. He also doesn't talk about how BK wasted one of those picks because he couldn't afford three guaranteed contracts..after he failed to get Yi. BK was fired because things weren't going as planned.
The guy talks about the Korver trade. He doesn't mention we got a first round pick for him. Cap space and a first round pick for a one dimentional player who was a second round pick is a pretty good return on investment.
I also recall that it was Pat Riley who wanted Andre Miller not Stefanski wanting Jason Williams. Not to mention, at that point in the season we were not in a playoff race so it might've made sense to trade Miller for more cap space. Ed did the smart thing by holding steady. I can't comment on a Reggie Evans trade because I didn't hear anything about that.
And lastly, Ed deserves a lot of credit for the success of this team by putting Cheeks in to position to play the young guys. Yeah, BK's fingerprints are on this team but so are Ed's. Just look at the records to see who's better at directing the ship.
Between shopping sprees at every player's favorite shoe store, the Sixers went 21-7. Only one team played better basketball, and they had to make history to do so.

Which part are you asking me about Dond? Reggie Evans? It wasn't reported any where else we were trying to "dump" him like this guy stated. That was the 1st time I heard that mentioned.
Or the part about Andre Miller? George Karl has said several times he didn't want to include Miller and wanted to pair him with Iverson but the Sixers insisted on getting Miller in the deal. So the guy is wrong when he said they wanted to get rid of Miller to create room in their back court for AI.

It reads more like a blog than a news article/editorial; but one gets what they paid for I guess.
Still, its good to see some attention coming the Sixers way. Though I am thinking it would probably be better if so much attention doesn't come their way as they ARE young and ARE more likely to listen to hype. Given the effect Mo has had, one could say media attention could end up being something else he'd have to coach them against moreso than in other parts of their season.
