Despite out lousy play over the last few weeks, I think we can really give Detroit a run for their money. I'm not saying we're definitely gonna beat them, but if we play well we have a shot. Their bench is really young but their starters are getting up their in age, so if we can consistently push the ball and get out on the break than we'll do well.

Not even remotely.
Though he doesn't annoy me like he seems annoys the regulars, I appreciate his insight from "the other side", the other extreme--it helps me see things more an un-Kool Aid skewed, rational standpoint. (His antagonist attitude could be adjusted though, we're all Philly family here.)

You keep saying this but it's simply not true. Detroit is top 5 in defense for the past 5 years running. With or without Ben Wallace, Detroit is #1 in fewest points allowed per game, #3 in blocked shots per game, tied for the fewest turnovers per game... and if you speed up the pace and run, Detroit wins 97% of the games (34-1) when they score 100+ points.

If I were coaching the 6ers I'd go with this lineup.
Miller
Lou
Iggy
Evans/Thad Young ~ equal time.
Dalembert
Miller and Billups is an excellent matchup. Williams is more than fast enough to chase Rip around but gives up a little in height. On the other end, though, Williams is too laterally quick for hamilton to handle and he should be able to get to the basket pretty often. The real point of advantage for the 6ers is going to be Iguodala vs. Prince. Once a strong SF, with passing ability, gets in the lane versus the Pistons their defense totally breaks down. Prince is long, but he's very easy to push around. It happened last year with LeBron and it happened in the last 2 games versus the Celtics this year with Pierce. Glen Davis was able to get 22 points in 1 game, just catching passes underneath the basket for layups and dunks. I think that Dalembert and Evans should be able to the same.
I'm not saying that the 6ers are going to win, but Iguodala is a really good type of player to have when facing the Pistons.

I think that I would start Lou as well...he certainly is quick enough to chase Rip all over the floor, and if the Pistons try to run post-ups for Hamilton to take advantage of Lou's size, that would be OK with me (as that is not the usual offense that they run). I think that as much as I like what Thad brings to the table, I would start Evans and have him try to rustle their feathers.

The Pistons will look for every opportunity to post up a shorter player. They have in the past and likely will in our playoff series. And Rip is a good enough post player to make Lou pay.

I guess that my feeling is that - while the Pistons would likely try to take advantage of Lou on defense, at least he has a chance to neutralize that with his offense. I don't see where somebody like Willie G will have enough of an impact on our offense to offset what might be better defense on Rip.

Sounds reasonable, but I still like Lou off the bench seeing how bogged down the offense can get. Lou is a much better option to come off the bench to spark the offense than Green. There's nothing that say Lou can't get the same minutes off the bench that he would as a starter. Just hopefully Mo makes it happen. The ideal situation I think would be either inserting Carney or Thad in place of Green and having both Green and Lou off the bench. Thad makes us bigger. Carney, though not as much, still makes us bigger and also gives us another 3 point threat in the starting lineup.
