Willie Green really stepped up last night... He and Thad made contributions that are somewhat overlooked by the performances of those who finished the game. All in all.... well rounded effort.... certainly not easy to be at a disadvantage in terms of post season experience and walk into the palace against a perennial championship contender and take the series lead.

Go to 37 seconds. They haven't shown the Reggie Evans turnaround jumper in most highlights I have seen, but it is really unbelievable. I think he paid attention to what Sheed was doing.

I like the fact that Lou can bring the ball up the court quickly and safely, thus giving Miller a chance to rest a little when the situation does not allow the latter to be taken out. For example Andre played 45 minutes last night and although 32 is not ancient for a guard, Hamilton and Billups were well rested in comparison.

Williams is clutch and, although last night was not an example, has had games when he has been on fire. I have, however, often been dismayed when Cheeks does not play Evans or Green at all in fourth quarters. This is particularly annoying when I think our best strengths, rebounding and defense, are being sacrificed by playing guys with purportedly more offensive potential who are just not scoring. Mo is obviously doing something right, however, so I am probably wrong.

Just before (and also after) Lou hit that important corner jumper, I was screaming to sub in Willie. I just feel more confident about Green's defense, and last night he too was clutch, and actually shooting better than LW. I also remember Willie, earlier in the year, hitting a late three that won the game, so it is not like we are totally eschewing offense by playing him (when he is on his game). I'm sure I am the only one, but I think he is also a better finisher at the rim, and I love the back door plays from Andre.

I thought Lou was at a disadvantage defensively, as evidenced by his three fouls in a relatively short time frame. Fortunately Mo switched Iguodala on him occasionally and Chauncey could not exploit Williams as much as I feared. I even questioned some of Lou's offensive decisions, or maybe the execution of them, last night. All in all, though, the unit on the floor obviously played well enough to win, even if Miller had to play another 6'7" guy with Willie out. I'm just expressing my bias for veteran players in crunch time in the playoffs, and better defensive match-ups.

By the way. Mo did something we talked about yesterday...playing AI at guard at the end of the game. He was even smarter though. He put him on Mr. Big Shot, much like Pops did (with Bowen) two minutes from the end of a game that the Spurs stole to prevent the Piston's repeat.

YES!!! Good for you guys. I'm a celts fan and was at the BOS and ATL game last night. They put the score up of your game and the place went nuts. I think you can do it. Your team is really good. What is the record of your team since the all star break? You guys are on a tare.

I don't know if its a good or bad sign that we pulled out a win where our best players played poorly. Who would have expected such huge contributions from Green and Reggie?

Of our core, only Miller really got over the hump from a poor start. AIG and Lou hit some shots, but overall struggled.

In terms of adjustments- Lou needs to watch som tape of AI. After he beats his man he needs to go for a short pull up instead of going all of the way and getting his layup blocked. Lou has the 6ft pull up in his aresenal, and can even draw the fould since his defender he beats might run up his back.

AIG has to study how Lebron beats up Prince. I realize he lacks Lebrons skills, but he still is stronger than Prince. On his drives he needs to cut back with his last step at Prince, attacking him like you would attack a shotblocker. He should be able to step through Prince, either drawing a foul, or allowing an easier finish (or both.) When he falls away on the drive he only scores when he gets a bail out call from the refs. Hopefully we will see AIG make the adjustment.

BTW, despite Evans surprise performance, I thought the two best players on the floor were Sheed and Miller. It may have taken him 9 years to maximize his floor game, but Andre Miller is a star.

The Sixers arrived in Michigan on Saturday evening and Andre Iguodala prepared for the playoffs by watching games on TV.
"I was up late watching the games on TV and YouTube clips," Iguodala said. "It's like a new season."

That's how he prepared?
