I am conflicted about this topic.

I think everything this team has accomplished, and our excellent cap position which suggests further improvement in the future, was orchestrated by Billy King.

From what I have read, I do suspect that Stefanski can make us even better in the future, but, it is my lonely belief, that he has already gotten off to a bad start.

We, and every legitimate analyst I have heard, bemoan our shooting weakness. Ed has made two personnel moves. Both have caused, or aggravated this problem. It seems clear to me that when you get rid of a good player for nothing you weaken a team. He seems to have a plan for the extra cap space we gained from the Korver trade, so I hope it works. It is probable that we'll just have to use at least some of it to replace what we lost anyway, and really need. It now seems obvious that Kyle was not really just a luxury this year. Hopefully we will get a better all around player, or we will have used that cap space merely to break even (if we are lucky).

I am just an ignorant layperson but, to me, the waste of Giricek was mind boggling. Forgive me, but I grew up in a day when you didn't even throw stale bread away, but saved it for turkey stuffing or breadcrumbs. What a waste of 3? million dollars. He is a good perimeter shooter, better than advertised defender, and most of all had the size we could have used.

I'll try to get used to the new math, and a GM who measures success by a few more losses we might not have otherwise suffered. In three years I may even look back and think how stupid I am. (Some know it already.) But I remain a hopeless dinosaur who still measures success by wins and losses.

I saved the most unpopular, perhaps unforgivable, part of my rant for last. I really believe everyone who says Ed will be a great GM. I just hope he doesn't continue to meddle with, or intimidate, the coaches. I still believe no wine before its time. We should not have been able to beat Detroit this year, whatever we did. But I think starting Thad against Dice, Maxiell, Sheed, etal, and playing Lou on Chauncey and Rip were stupid. I think it is a rationalization to believe that they would not otherwise have developed this year, even playing in other than prime time. Fans are supposed to be excited and see their favorites as they might be in the future. GMs and coaches should know better.

Having said all that, I haven't enjoyed a season more than this for years and am excited about our direction. Someday I may have to admit that Ed did everything correctly and I am just more full of crap than usual. Everyone else can concoct scenarios where we rid ourselves of everyone over twenty, but I attribute any success this year to Miller, Iguodala, and Dalembert.

He has to evaluate every potential offer, and make the best moves.

Did someone really just say they should trade for Josh Howard?

Portland seems to make some sense for Miller. They've gone on record stating they don't need to get any younger. As much as I hate to give up two big 'chemistry' players, I think Miller and Evans would garner some interest from Portland. They have a ton of young players, and if they give up something like their #1, Frye, Koponen, Webster and probably Raef to match the $'s, is that enough? It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

I am not impressed with Frye or Webster. Frye is very soft that plays Sf and Webster is inconsisitent. I like Outlaw and I like the 13th pick. Remember the Nets got 2 1's for Kidd. Dallas got ripped off in that trade.

If Philly asks for the 13th pick,Portland's ist 2 picks in round 2 and Outlaw, I would make that deal. With Portland's picks early in round 2,We can pick an off guard, or the best available athlete. The 2 ist round picks would give us the power to trade up to 8 draft kevin Love or draft both Speights and Thompson. It sounds juicy to me.

Ed,your on the clock,so let's shake em up. :D

- Trade Miller. His value is at it highest right now and there is no certainty he's resigning with us. Unless we are going "all or nothing" next year, the sixers should make sure he's going to resign with them so they know to get value for him.

-Iguodala. He's had one of the worst postseasons that I've ever seen from a player in recent memory, so dont overpay for this guy. If he wants 12 mill, trade him and try to get Josh Howard if he is available.

- Dalembert. Improve your hands and bulk up.

Those 3 players are considered our foundation, yet I'm not sure if they will be around or can compete on a championship level. At this point, that's all I'm interested in, getting players who dont get rattled come postseason. The rest of the team is ok. Thad will become a very good player, and everybody else on the team is just role players.

Were you really talking about one of the worst offseasons? Trade for Josh Howard?

The roster doesn't have to be totally revamped, but a minimum of one impact player at shooting guard and/or power forward has to be added.

And there will be questions whether the Sixers should upgrade at center, especially with how inconsistent Samuel Dalembert was against the Pistons.

Question is, if we get that "impact" player at SG, where does that leave Iguodala? We all know that a PF is our most pressing need. But that means Thaddeus has to be moved back to SF, sliding Iguodala over to SG. Narducci doesn't seem to think Igoudala is that "impact player at SG. I guess.

We're probably not getting an "impact player" (At least the way you define it) at both SG and PF.
