Not necessarily...

PG - A.Miller(34), Williams(14)
SG - M.Miller(18), Iggy(20), Williams(10)
SF - Iggy(16), Thad(20), M.Miller(12)

Thad could play another 8-10 MPG at PF. Plenty of time available for him at SF.

Not a huge Miller fan, and not sure I'm a bit torn on moving Carney. Carney has so much athleticisim, and if he continues to improve his 3pt efficiency, he could be a huge bench piece for this team moving forward. Miller puts up nice numbers, but I don't know if he's the answer for this team. It wouldn't be the worst move in the world, but I hope they have a bigger move in store for us this summer.

I don't understand why Mike Miller is being undervalued here. He's one of the more underrated players in the league. He has decent ability at creating his own shot, is unselfish, and is a pure shooter. He can rebound well, and if I;m not mistaken he has gotten pretty close to a couple of triple doubles this year.

His closest comparison would be, Hedo Turkoglu. And before his breakout this year, Miller was the better player. But if he played the same minutes as Turk did, I think he would have been just as good.

He would be an ideal player for us at the SG spot. He could either come off the bench, or start for us, and we would be a much better team with him around. Thad can still play significant minutes at the SF while sharing some PF time as well, and Iggy could do the same with the SG/SF spots. I think this would significantly deepen our bench, and would give us another scorer we desperately need, other than Lou. Best of all, Miller isn't all that bad a defender. He's average at best, so he won't hinder the team defensively if we acquire him.

People realize that Mike Miller offers up little resistance to all perimeter players around the league even though he is athletic enough to where that shouldn't be a problem. He's about as bad as you can get defensively at his position. People have career games against Mike Miller religiously. This is even supported statistically, he was outperformed by the opposition's SG last season according to 82games.com. He faired better at the SF position where players have less speed and agility. But with that said Willie Green was also outplayed by SG's last season so it's an upgrade at that position but not by much considering Miller's sizable contract. Post injury Willie may not be able to score 35+ points like Miller but Willie also is not going to allow his opponent to have 35+ point nights RELIGIOUSLY. I've never seen Willie get helplessly abused from jump ball to horn like Miller. I would hate the feeling of being on the otherside of the abuse if Miller became the starting SG for the Sixers and we have SG's come in the Wachovia Center scorching the nets like it was still shootaround.

If we can get Mike Miller for Green, Carney +16 we have to take advantage of that offer.

By trading Green and Carney, Iguodala automatically moves to SG. L. Williams and Young more than likely get more time at SG and Sf also.

I would do that deal for Miller in a heartbeat....unless you believe that Carney is going to become another Rip Hamilton.

I sure don't.

And, as Sixerswillrule broke it down, there would be plenty of minutes for Miller, Iggy, Lou, Thad and Miller to play.

Opposing defenses would actually have to account for Miller out on the floor - something that was sorely lacking (for all of us to see) in the Detroit series. He can shoot from distance, he can pass, he's a better rebounder than either Carney or Green...and it still allows us to keep our cap room to upgrade the 4.

If we can get Mike Miller for Carney, Green and Utah's pick, it is a no-brainer for me.

That's a good point. That is the one risk with Miller. He has had to miss entire (or parts of) games due to back issues thougout his career. It's never caused him to miss significant time, but he will go through periods where he is in and out of the lineup.

Miller is 28. That does not make him a fossil, but it means he might be on the downside in 3 years when Thad and AIG are really hitting their stride.

I certainly would be willing to bring in Miller if the cost is right. At very least he will have a 10M expiring contract in 2 years, which might be used in a trade for a star at just the right time (our current core would be 22-29 in three years, so more ready to really make a run.)

We are not. It would still be PF by committee (Thad, regie, Jason Smith) until the team can pull off another deal to get a top PF. We still could potentially move Andre Millers 10M expiuring in a deal this season to get a PF, or just wait a year or two.

I doubt there is any one move that gets this team to where it needs to be. But if we keep the young core we can start adding peices until we get a chance to make a bigger deal to put us in a position to be a contender.

As long as we have the flexabilty of being at or under the cap, have expirings and tradeable prospects, we should continue on the way up.

Having Hedo/Lewis in the frountcourt with Howard is the reason they won't win the east this year and there horrible backcourt as well. Howard needs a big men next to him just like Dalembert if we want to win big time. Obviously Howard is much better not comparing but with premieter players like Hedo. If we got Mike Miller, we would get killed on the boards. Dalembert/Howard would be the only good rebounders on the team.

Mike Miller doesn't really solve our problems. I don't like playing Young at Power Forward he isn't big enough he is way better at small forward. Our top goal is to find a power forward then we can add some shooters with the MLE. Other options our gm has this summer he better not **** up.

I like Ed Stefanski idk how everyone else feels about him sort of question the Korver trade but it did help Young,Carney with more minutes. He's got to be smart, patient, and that cap space is the only really hope for 76ers to compete for a title in any near future.

Let Carney get more playing time and well see what happens with the 3 ball. I dont want miller mostly because of his contract.

Lets get a pf and sign shooters later.

I'm not saying that this team doesn't need a PF. We obviously do, it is most definitely our biggest need. But if that is all we acquire, it simply will not be enough. The current shooters on our team are not enough. An improvement in that area needs to be made...

Mike Miller got abused while starting at SG last season. He was far better at SF, but once I did more research I figured out the reason he did so well at SF was because he was playing against the reserves at that position for a good portion of the game. He would split time at SF while Rudy Gay played some PF. Rudy Gay played 28% of the minutes at PF, Mike Miller played 28% of the minutes at SG and 32% at SF...Gay started at SF playing 46% of the minutes there. Mike Miller is amongst the worst defensive starters in the league. Kobe averages like 50 points on him. You can't have a bullseye in your starting lineup like that if you have hopes of winning a CHIP.
