Except the sixers have done a good job of grabbing players in the draft. Who at 6 would be busts? Not sold yet really on players like Bayless, Randolph, the two, in my opinion, highest risk, lowest reward top prospects.

Randolph and Bayless both have questions to their games, but I think they are high risk, HIGH reward type players.

IF Bayless can play the point and manage a team, he has the athleticism, size, and ability to score that could make him a truly great PG. If he's just a small SG, then he's probably an upgraded Lou Williams or a Monta Ellis.

IF Randolph can put some weight on, and can legitimately shoot and defend the PF spot, he gives you a long, athletic, versatile PF along the lines of Bosh or Garnett. I think he is the bigger risk of the two players, and him reaching the level of a Bosh or Garnett is probably more of a stretch, but I don't think they are low reward prospects.

What is that high reward about them? I dont see Randolph s anything more then Boris Diaw. Bosh and Garnett, those guys can both SHOOT. Randolph can't. His size is definetly scary because I dont see him gaining much more weight. Bayless won't be a PG and he's an undersized SG that isn't really strong. Absolute best case scenerio is Bayless becomes Monta Ellis. Will he tho? I dont think he's a bad prospect, but more of a 6th man in the NBA. I'd rather have Eric Gordan.

I understand your thoughts that they are risky picks, I just think they have higher upside. Randolph is more risky of the two. Agree on Bayless being a Monta Ellis type IF he is only a SG. If he's got the mentality to handle the point, he has a much higher upside. Nice size and electric athleticism...pair that with a PG mindset, and he could be special. Who knows...none of us get to meet these kids and see if they are knuckleheads or mature enough to want and handle greatness.

Very true...I remember watching the draft last year and they were interviewing all the picks. A couple guys, the 2 Wrights and Yi, stuck out as ones who werent quite intellectuals. But so much of who a player becomes is based on how hard they work at it.

I realize why people are down on Iguodala and concerned about his contract, but I think people overvalue mid lottery picks. Sure some of them end up being stars, but most end up being worse than Iguodala.

I would not trade a solid 24 year old player like Iguodala for the #6 pick (NY's pick). Look at #6 picks over the last 27 years, who other than Roy and maybe Kaman was clearly better than Iguodala is right now? People forget how risky draft picks are unless you get a top 3 pick.

#6 picks (roughly best to worst)

Roy
Kenny Smith
Hersey Hawkins
Antoine Walker
Chris Kaman
Wally Szcerbiak
Shane Battier
Childress
Yi
Webster
Tom Gugliotta
Bryant Reeves
Stacey King
Joe Kleine
DeMarr Johnson
Ron Mercer
Calbert Chaeney
Felton Spencer
William Bedford
Mel Turpin
Doug Smith
Sharone Wright
Robert Traylor
Dajuan Wagner
Stacey King
Joe Kleine

Stacey King in college looked like he would make a good pro. In fact, on one Sunday afternoon in the 1989-1990 season in round 2, when the 76ers lost to the Bulls in 5 games, it was Stacey King who nailed Rick Mahorn and comapny for 27 points in game 4 at the Spectrum. This only happened because Scottie Pippen was at a funeral. We blew a 16 point lead in the game in game 4. That was the highlight of Stacey Kings career. I hope that will not be the way Marresee Speights career turns out. :D :)

You guys would be dumb to trade Iggy, but if that's your choice, you can have Redd + #8.

i highly doubt the Bucks would trade that for Iguodala...but if they would id have to do it...It would sure up our need for a shooter and go to scorer, give Thad more minutes @ the 3 and give us the 8th pick
