There is a word that YOU should familiarize YOURself with: Money.
Why would the Sixers put all of that MONEY into Ellis and Childress, and then also go sign the 11th pick in the draft just to have him sit on the bench?
It doesn't make sense. Meanwhile, L-Will is getting decent money and now starting next to Ellis in your scenario. This is just silly. Who passes the ball? Each of them are gonna shoot or drive every time they get it. Someone has to sacrifice their numbers.
And if you are looking at depth and thinking it is so important, why do you only have 3 capable big men on this team in your plan? And why only 2 players who can play PG, but who are both more suited for SG?
There is a major lack of PG and C depth on this suggested squad. And you only have 8 players in your lineup. Why are you talking to me about depth? Fix your plan to include more "depth" and then explain why we want an 11th overall pick sitting on the BENCH behind Thad(he will get a ton of minutes), Ellis(also getting a bunch of PT), and Childress(getting most of the minutes off the bench for both of the above).
All I'm saying is if I'm trading Iggy, it's gonna be for a starter in return, not a third stringer.
That or change your proposed lineup to this:
PG-L-Will/Ellis
SG-Ellis/Childress/L-Will
SF-Thad/Randolph/Childress
PF-Bass/Thad/Randolph
C-Daly/Frye
At least that makes it seem like Randolph will get more minutes. Meh, I am not a fan of throwing a ton of money at Ellis and then trading Iggy for non-starters.

51X3RF4N you are living in a fantasy basketball world where 18 year old basketball players get guaranteed playing time without earning it. Please...It's fine if YOU want to trade Iggy for a starter. I see his replacement on the free agent market and already on our roster in Childress and Thad.
This thread isn't JUST a plan for next season. This thread is the beginnings for the next 5-10 years. This was a losing team last year, the object of this thread wasn't to build the best team on paper in one offseason to compete for a NBA title in 2008-2009. Also go back a few pages and figure out what the 12 man roster would look like. If you read the whole thread then you wouldn't have placed Frye at center AND NOT PLACED JACK AT PG!

Sorry I didn't read the whole thread. I am guilty.
However, why would an 19 year old, since that is the minimum age for rookies, not be able to step in and play right away without earning it? It is happening all over the NBA! Every year freshman come out of college and take the starting spots of other players simply because they were drafted in the top 15 and people expect to see these investments on the court. It's all about money.

This can't be real? is it? this is damn crazy. i understand not being a fan of iguodala. i can somehow make myself understand you thinking he's a poor rebounder despite him averaging nearly 6 rebounds not less than 5. but your going to compare him to charles f'n barkley!?!?
lets forget that we are comparing the #s of a pf to a sf/sg. CHARLES F'n BARKLEY!! okay okay, you think iguodala is a poor rebounder because he is 6'6 and averages less than barkley who is 6'4. do you think every single basketball player under 6'8 is a poor rebounder? cause 3 people under 6'8 have averaged more than barkley. .
This is bat Sh*t crazy. I understand if you dislike a player but come on man.
+1
Don't worry, that builds character and you can never have too much character...
