How is it a man crush to inquire about a 24 year old perennial all-star who is one of the best players in the league? You act like Im talking about Ricky Davis or something. And yes, you are suggesting that Iguodala, Miller, or someone else on this team is gonna lead us if you think a guy like Melo wont because you obviously have no realistic ideas of your own as to how we should build a championship contender. Im not saying trading for a guy like Melo will automatically do it, but its much better than what we currently have and is a step in the right direction.

SendEm wrote:Carmelo is washed up because he JUST shoots jump shots like Iggy. He now plays basketball like he has tired legs. He doesn't drive to the hole nearly enough unlike in the past. Carmelo is STILL the same player that he was BEFORE he lead the NBA in scoring last season before Iverson was traded. He's just a gunner that doesn't make anyone better and doesn't play any defense. I remember how down everyone was on Melo before AI came on the scene everyone started mentioning how much better a player D.Wade was, and how Bosh is more valuable as a PF compared to Carmelo as a SF. Melo is just a big time shooter. I wouldn't even call him a scorer anymore because he just shoots jumpers....

That might be the dumbest thing you've said on this board. And everyone knows you've said a hell of alot of dumb things. If SendEm disagrees with me, I know I must be somewhat right.

First question see bold. Your second statement, uhh no.  I never suggested that in any way. I just don't want Melo on this team. His attitude leaves much to be desired. We actually have good ball movement right now too . Yes, his numbers look nice on paper, but you are not taking into account that he could potentially screw with team chemistry. Let's assume that we do trade for him? What do we give? Dalembert, Thad, 1st? Miller, Thad, 1st and future first? With the small chance that they do with Philly, we're giving up at the minimum, two starters and first(s). Yea, that will make us a contender for sure.

In the immortal words of Ed Wuncler III, from The Boondocks on adult swim, voiced by the equally immortal Charlie Murphy...

"I say we get the m****rf****r!!!"

I'm already here guys!
Walk the city lonely
Memories that haunt are passing by
A murderer walks your streets tonight
Forgive me for my crimes;don't forget that I was so young
Fought so scared in the name of God and Country

If Denver doesn't get any mind blowing offers, they'd probably accept this offer:

Melo

for

Thaddeus Young, Jason Smith, #16 + Cap Space

We still get to keep Miller, Louis Williams, Iguodala, and Dalembert and bring in a franchise player.

Our lineup would be like this:

Miller
Iguodala
Melo
Evans
Dalembert

Bench
Louis Williams
Willie Green
Rodney Carney
Herbert Hill?
Calvin Booth

Our 8 man rotation is legit, especially if Herbert Hill is a serviceable player. We'll be able to pick up a PF by some other means. All we really need is someone that can hit the three ball.

I wouldn't trade Thad for very much right now and Melo certainly is not one of those players.

Honestly, I wouldn't want to trade him for Carmelo either, but in reality he'd be more likely to go in a Melo trade than Iguodala(simply because of position)
