If Augustin does drop to us we almost have to take him don't we? Miller won't be with us much longer he can be groomed under Miller all of next year then take over full time the next year.

Good trades for both teams.

Indiana probably gets as much as they can for O'neal. Ford and another draft pick will help that team along with rebuilding.

Toronto trades a player in Ford that has come expendable for a former all star big man that has some injury issues, but holds a lot of potential. Bosh and O'neal as a tandem could be a nightmare for opposing teams.

If O'neal stays healthy for the Raptors, the eastern conference better watch out. They could easily compete in the eastern conference if they bring in another shooter.

I don't believe they're on the same level as Boston just yet but they could get there with another move or two. This is one of those weird trades where I now believe Toronto is better than they were before the deal and I feel the same way about Indiana.

Good point. Looks like the east is going to be shook up alot by the time next season gets here.

Very sensible trade for IND... they needed to blow it up.

But (pending a blockbuster tmrw night) IMO Brian Colangelo wins Executive of the Year award in 09.... Book it.

JO is a competitor, and he will be fired up to prove everyone wrong... He's had almost 3 years to rest his body... IMO he comes back strong this season and the Raps will be dominant in the half court. 50+ wins. Eastern Conference finals.

Rasho is a bit like the wildhorse in this trade. He had a great last two months of the season averaging a legit 14 pts. and nearly 7 boards.

From a Raps' fan perspective, this is a good deal for the Raps. JO doesn't have to be the go to guy anymore in Toronto with Bosh there and takes a lot of pressure off of Bargnani to be the impact player he's supposed to be. #17 picks are tough to make successful. Ford was comtemplating retirement a few months ago. Rasho's very inconsistent but got minutes and played well at the end. Getting anything legit like a 4 time allstar for this group is a steal.

How does this impact the Sixers? I'm not sure. This trade does make the Raptors the legit #2 in the Atlantic but the Sixers, I believe, is not that far away. The Raps still lack the fundamental hustle quality, even with this trade, that is so needed to succeed in the NBA (see Celtics). The Sixers, on the other hand, does have this quality in abundance but just don't have the outside shooting or the interior scoring the Raps have. As for the draft, it should be best player available regardless of position on this team. Best bet is probably a PF of some sort unless Gallineri drops to us, which could happen. Mocks are not the most accurate thing in the world. Indiana can do whatever it wants. Best player available for the Sixers.
