Better fit for the Sixers, Josh Smith or Elton Brand?

Post#1 » by CinciSixersFan » Tue Jul 1, 2008 1:36 pm

Today, the Sixers enter free agency, and who knows what is going to happen. They might sign Brand out right, they may do a sign and trade, they may do a sign and trade for Smith, they might fall flat on their face and have to sign someone way down their list. But the consensus, is that Elton Brand or Josh Smith are two of the most coveted free agents this summer and most likely best fits for the Sixers to come in and play power forward.........

so if restricted free agency, the salary cap or a sign and trade were not factors and you simply had a choice of Josh Smith or Elton Brand for the Sixers this summer, who would it be?

Simply put, who is a better fit to compliment our current roster?

During the season, I have to say I was a big proponent of Brand, but after drafting Speights and thinking about this team is built, I tend to think that Smith might fit in much better. Please vote and give your thoughts and reasoning.

No to Brand and No to Smith... Unfortunately in the NBA world of today you can't seperate the player from their contract... As such the amount of $$$ & years it's going to take to land Brand or Smith aren't worth it in my opinion... No one has been a bigger Brand fan than I, but his injury now conerns me in terms of locking him up long term... Smith in my opinion isn't a prototypical 4... I have similar concerns, but am slightly more interested in Okafor and Biedrins...

Please keep the free-agent discussions in one of the current threads. We already have an Elton Brand thread and a free-agency thread.
