Lamar Odom is and always will be a 3 in my mind. Him and PF shouldn't even be in the same sentence. Might as well just play Thad at the 4.

psyko:

I guess that if we were going to lay a HUGE trade exemption on somebody, I would hope that it would be for a piece for the future (like Hinrich) as opposed to a one-year rental...although I guess that - if you are not going to trade Miller - it might not be such a bad thing to bring in 'Sheed for one season and then let both Miller and 'Sheed roll off the books next summer...

Personally, I would rather not wait another season to see how we can upgrade our roster with our cap room...but we may not have any choice.

I don't think the cost for Sheed would be too high at this point.

I think Dumars knows whoever trades for him, knows he'd possibly be a one year rental.

Dumars can't expect the world in return for him.

I think Reggie Evans and a lotto protected future first would get it done.

If you want Rasheed (This from Detroit Fan) he's more available then Bill Gates, us fans want to get rid of Sheed but we won't give him up for anything to small, it would need to return us talent that could help us win now.

Detroit has just enhanced their behavioral health providers to accomodate Sheed's residency...it wouldn't be fair to put all of those people out of business by trading Sheed.

Now that we have Speights, Josh Smith wouldnt bother me as much. No he isnt a post up guy, but he fits our style of play and would help hide balance out the lack of post game by his impact on the defensive end. My only concern with Josh is making sure we get a sharpshooter otherwise our FG% from outside 12 feet would be pretty poor.

Count me out on any old PFs that arnt named Elton Brand

:noway:

Sheed for Daly would be what Joe D would settle for IMO

Sheed has his disadvantages for sure but he is still an upgrade and a large expiring FWTW.

Given where the Sixers are, and who Sheed is, I don't think any GM in the league would put Sheed on this team over Sam. They are not 1 piece away, and Sheed is still an aging wild card d/t his behavioral issues.

If Smith played a more traditional PF role, I'd be all in, but I don't know if he's going to mature into that.

I like Biedrins if Ed decides to go big. He would complement or eventually replace Sammy. At this point, Sammy only has 3 years on his contract so should be tradable in another year if they need to move him. I'm not sure Ed is going after a big. Why not Monta Ellis? After Miller leaves, a backcourt of Ellis, Williams, & Iguodala would be interesting. I would expect GS to match either guy though.

Ellis is too small to play with LWill

I'd prefer jamison over wallace. But I think it will be a moot point. Atlanta won't let smith go, brand will not opt out, so we may have to settle for jamison or trade for randolph. I'd consider chris wilcox as well if you could get him signed to an extension.

I just can't see Washington letting Jamison go especially after Arenas made the remark about how he won't re-sign there if Jamison isn't re-signed. Did you know Arenas is crazy?? :-)

Also... what about Marion? Granted, I don't think we'll get Smith or Brand or Okafor but I would go after Marion (expiring contract) before Wallace and Jamison. I think he's far more obtainable and he would free up space again next summer. To me, he's the best band-aid we could slap on this team if we're going to go that route.

I see what you are saying about marion. I just don't think that a one year fit is going to go over well with the public. They have been talking up this cap space for two years so they have to make a big splash. You are right about arenas, he is a nut. lol

sheed shouln't cost a ton..i am thinking some 2 of evans, smith and a future one would do it..with evans having to be one of the 2...docwasoverated

but dumars is pretty smart. it would probably take carney/smith and next years pick to get him, MINIMUM. thats not much to give up, but its future assetts which can be valuble

excellent points on sheed....he would help the slashing drives of thad ,iggy, etc with a big man drawn away from the basket

Return to Philadelphia 76ers
