OT: Favorite Billy King moment

Post#1 » by Dedicated_76ers_fan » Wed Jul 30, 2008 5:40 pm

What was the favorite moment of blunder of Billy King's tender in your eyes? Whether it was a bad trade or signing or whatever. There are three that come to my mind.

1:Billy's being fired.
2: The failed Hughes for McGrady trade in which Billy King blamed Stephen.A.Smith and ESPN for leaking.
3: When Ed Snider and co called John Salmons "The best sixer" following a pathetic deadline that included trading for a second round pick.

Didn't we do this 4 months ago or so? Why live in the past when the sun is shining and happy days are here again?

My favorite BK moment was the part where he lost his job.

How about when he drafted Iguodala and traded Thomas (who's contract the Kings would love to get out of) for Webber? Louis Williams? Korver? I know a lot of that is DiLeo, but it's still under the BK era.

No need to beat a dead horse. He had alot of mistakes but the majority of this team, for better or worse, was constructed by him.

Funniest moment was signing Kenny Thomas to his current contract. K9 is set to make $8 mil this year, and $8.5 mil next year. Kenny averaged 1.9 ppg last season.

However, absence does make the heart grow fonder, and I think credit is due to King for the current state of this team. I'm not sure Ed has done anything yet that King couldn't have.

The question is posed as "Favorite"

I appreciate the distinction since most of my memories of BK are negative (KT contract, WG contract, Buckner contract, bringing Webber in, changing coaches like underwear etc.)

Favorite moments

1. Trading Iverson and changing the face and direction of the team
2. Being visably upset with Iverson and Webber for the Fan "Unappreciation" fiasco. First and only time he looked like he had a pair.

If you keep reading the question it's actually: "favorite moment of blunder of Billy King's tender." Whatever that means.

Too many blunders to count so I guess my mind's eye stopped at favorite. :)
