I actually met DJ a couple years ago at a Terps game. My old man grew up across the street from Gary Williams and he introduced us to DJ at a home game during warm ups. Very nice kid.

Have to agree with you here TK76, Marshall was not good last year and to think he could do something for the 76er's this year is really not plausible. I would take a shot at Fazekas or bring in someone from the NBDL. Anything would be better than bringing in Marshall.

He was pretty decent with the Raptors. Best time of his career.

I don't necessarily think his skills have deteriorated that much. I think he just had no chemistry playing with Lebron. Worth a look, especially as a big man that can shoot the three ball and play some minutes at the 3. Only for the min though and only if there's a roster spot available (is there?).

He may or may not have had chemistry with LeBron but that doesn't change the fact that Marshall is now 35 years old and missed the final 15 games of last season with a sore right knee. The last I checked, there aren't too many 35 year olds with sore knees that are making any sort of a comeback in this league. He was good in Toronto, especially against the Sixers.... but that was then.

Is he worth a look? Yes. Anyone is worth a look. If they want to watch him play a pick up game against other NBA players and maybe even bring him in for a work out, fine. It's just good business. Do I expect him to be a contributor in the NBA again? I would say no. He looks like age and injuries have taken the sail out of his wings and I can't see him being anything more than a dire emergency stand in. If he was 100% healthy, he would be worth a flier, but he hasn't been healthy in years and his problems appear to be a of a chronic variety.

Donyell was one of my favourite low profile players in the league and I was extremely pleased with his production in a Raptor uniform. I was really happy for him when he got the opportunity to play with Lebron but he has really let himself go. Perhaps if he had taken better care of himself he might have something left in the tank but at his age and his lack of in game action for the past couple years I think it is highly unlikely he could bring much on the court. He might be a good guy for the lockerroom but that's pretty much it.
