Seriously, what laissez-faire?

The government is arbitrarily picking the winners and losers. They're deciding which firms that make poor decisions should be bailed out. The Federal Reserve controls the entire money supply and have created the whole mess we're in to fund their wars.

Is this honestly laissez-faire to you?

We have an economic system that can better termed something like fascism, social-corporatism, national socialism, etc.

At the risk of this spiraling out of control (the poll was to pick a candidate), laissez faire = 'free market' aka Milton Friedman economics. Keynesian works much better for the people, and Obama appears to be closer to that.

My first pick would have been Dennis Kucinich since I agree with him in the general sense on all but one issue. My concerns are World Bank related as much as anything; their policies are being pushed in this country too. Kucinich stood up to them (and won). Like Dedicated said, I agree that we cannot allow McCain to be president, so Obama gets my vote. I don't agree with a flat tax though, it puts more burden on the poor. IMHO we shouldn't be taxing the poor.

Lastly...I know. It is what it is; my opinion. I'm not going to change your mind and you're not going to change mine. It's my two cents.

Happy voting.

I thought a flat tax meant, same level of taxes on ALL parties. No one party would pay more then another. That's my tax policy. If our Government is actually was money-wise, we wouldn't need much in taxes. And people would be able to keep more of their paychecks. If not nearly all of it.

That's a LeQuan Glover administration. Enough of this, it's not even wasteful spending. It's spending dollars WE DON'T HAVE. I repeat, WE DON'T HAVE THEM. To add 700 Billion Dollars=Iraq War. Onto our future economy(children) because of our falling wall street is UNACCEPTABLE by any means. And I am so glad Obama was the first one to speak against such a suicidal plan.

Funny, because George Bush has just left an indelible mark on the next presidency, while being only marginally involved in the process. At this point, whoever wins will have absolutely no chance to do anything of significance - their main job will be cleaning up our domestic mess(es). I honestly feel bad for whoever is eventually elected because they're in a no-win situation. With that said, I'm voting for Obama. I was contemplating not voting at all, but the selection of Sarah Palin sealed it for me.

Just a gut feeling but I think it will be McCain.

Does that matter? The fact of the matter is is that this is an election that will determine the course of this country for the foreseeable future. Such petty details will hold the country back in it's most crucial decision.
