I didn't catch the whole ball game but I'd be watching the replay about three hours from now.

From what I've seen in the second half..

I think the reason why we didn't have any trouble against this knicks squad is because they don't have a legit post defender inside aside from David Lee. There were possessions when Wilson Chandler was the guy guarding Elton Brand. This enables Elton Brand and Sammy Dalembert to beast inside. Another thing is that the knicks forced this game to be a run and gun type of game. This year, Sixers is going to be very deadly with this kind of up tempo style basketball.

my vote for Speights nickname is M16. he did not look like a rookie out there after he settled down! what a great draft pick, he's looking better than Thad did early on and that's just incredible.

what a great game, even Willie G. contributed positively for once. I'm starting to notice that he's been passing the ball more than ever, I hope he keeps it up. He becomes a much better player when he keeps his eyes open and feeds teammates.

We should expect a similar performance from the Atlanta Hawks. Who too, don't have a great low-post defender. Except for one man, Al Horford. We just got to watch out for Josh Smith, one of the best weak-side shotblockers in NBA history. If we can control the Smith madness, we can blow them out of the park similarly to New York.

Hawks are very underrated IMO. I think they are better than last year. This will be a tough game.

Yeah, I also love the M16 nickname. Totally suits his game and persona. :D

I totally agree. He likes to shoot the ball and is exactly what you want from someone coming off the bench. I also think he plays (and shoots) better when he is fresh, so it is an ideal role for him.

I just finished watching the replay and if there are two words to sum up why we won last game. It would be "no defense." We were facing a completely different team out there with the knicks compared to what we faced the other night with the Raptors. The Raptors shut down our half court game with both JO and Bosh in the paint. With the Knicks, we just bulldoze our way in the inside. Even Iggy and Andre Miller got their fair share at the post.

I don't think that we played that much different from the other night, which scares me. We're still sloppy with our halfcourt game. What really saves us last night is Elton Brand's dominance in the post, which opened up a lot of opportunities for our guys to score and we raised our transition offense on a notch or two with attacking Knicks' poor transition defense.

Iggy is still not hitting his shots. IMO, he is the biggest disappointment in these past two games. When he was holding the Sixers hostage with declining fair deals offered to him, posters in this board were saying how EB42 could create scoring opportunities for Iggy. And after watching the past two games, I don't think his scoring will be much better compared to back when he was the no.1 scoring option for the Sixers. Same old iggy, just fewer shot opportunities.

Thaddeus Young, although he was pretty impressive with his moves, is still is in limbo between becoming our no.2 to no.4 scoring option in our starting unit. I actually wanted him to be our no.2 scoring option behind EB to give more stability in our half court offense.

Andre Miller and EB42, though were impressive with their scoring, but I didn't see any potential with their 2 man game.

Lou Williams, if given the minutes, might be able to lead this team in scoring. And I'm serious about this. We might see a backcourt tandem of AI2 and Lou Williams in the near future. With Ai2 being in love with the PG role and Lou Williams shouldering the scoring load of our backcourt.

Willie Green played like he didn't got injured 3 years ago. But I wouldn't expect anything consistent from him. :D

If there is a guy who looks like the one who benefited the most with the addition of Brand, it was Dalembert. Damn.. 12.5rpg and 3bpg. If he can do it on a consistent basis and we might see him at the all-star game this season.

There is no reason to panic because this team will get better as the season goes. Iguodala has to play better, but the 76ers have alot of new players and it will take sometime for this team to be clicking on all cylinders. What bhave we learned about them the last 2 seasons? They are much better after the all star break.

I agree for two reasons. First the team needs to gell. It is hard to adjust to a new #1. Iguodala in particular seems uncertain what his new role is.

Second, Thad probably will go from mediocre to stud at SF over the course of the season (or maybe not until next year.) The offense should really open up once defenses have to start game planning for Thad- who they can pretty much ignore right now.

I don't view Thad as mediocre. Right now, he just needs to stop taking fouls. Defensively, we were for the most part the same. Indeed, and that has to change. And it starts with coaching. Mo loves to pack-it-in-the-middle JOB style and we've seen where that takes us without proper rotation. We have the potential to be one of most cohesive starting lineups in the league but it takes utalizing our strengths. And that is, Elton Brand and Sammy D downlow have been BEASTLY. Now we need to concentrate on our perimeter defense. This should be a man-to-man defensive system with occassional double-teams defensively.
