Re: Joel Embiid Trade Thread
We need a big, I like Montrez Harrell because he's cheap and the Lakers want to trade him. Harris for a resigned Schroder + Harrell?

Realism. And a good way to get out of Toby's contract if LA thinks they need more to push them through.

Re: Joel Embiid Trade Thread
Firstly, I was surprised that there is a thread like this.
Then, I was surprised that it’s already two pages.
Now, I’m surprised at the trade proposals.
We are not trading Embiid, lol.

Re: Joel Embiid Trade Thread
One of two things will for sure happen with Embiid this offseason:
- He will either get the 4 year 190+ million supermax that pays him for his age 30-33 seasons starting in 2023-2024 and ending in 2026-2027 season
or
- He will get traded at his peak value this offseason while he has two years remaining on his contract for his age 28 and 29 seasons
I am merely suggesting we take route 2 since I realize that 7+ foot big man who are 280+ pounds don't age well in this league in general. When you compound that with a guy who already has not only 1 but 2 bum knees, bad feet and a bad back you should be even more convinced that it is not wise to make the supermax commitment on him in his twilight years.
Do you guys realize how bad it is to have one damaged meniscus in terms of your long term future. Now imagine a player with a bad meniscus in both knees. That is not someone I want to make a commitment to.
The Suns had a similar decision with Amare in 2010 when he wanted a 6 year 30% max contract. They said no we don't believe in your knees. He got a 5 year max from the Knicks and had half a good season before he deteriorated.
They made the mistake of not trading high when he had a year or two left on his deal. Let's not make a similar mistake here.

Joel for Harden
Solves both teams problems.
Joel goes to the chip favorites who need a C and defence - but reality is they now truly have 3 glass superstars and long odds on surviving a full playoffs.
Harden allows Sixers to run Ben as the leagues fastest small ball C , increase his trade value.
Harden gets to run another Morey team.

That doesn't solve any problems for Brooklyn. If healthy they already have an argument for best team assembled. These dudes never lost a big game while they had all 3 healthy.
Besides Mike D'Antoni and Steve Nash would never sign up for a midrange lovin, post up loving, plodding big man who cant switch.

Re: Joel Embiid Trade Thread
Ok I'll bite.
Embiid for Luka, Powell, Kleber and Brunson.
Dallas builds around Embiid and Porzingis, and unstoppable duo.
Philly builds around Luka, who likely wants out of Dallas.
What other team can offer Dallas enough actual value for Luka? What other team can offer Philly enough actual value for Embiid?
Oh, and then Simmons, picks, Hill, and Thybulle for Zion. Zion wants out. It's perfect.
Harris for Kevin Love and Cedi Osman.
Luka/Brunson
Curry/Maxey
Osman/Korkmaz
Love/Kleber
Zion/Powell
Championship. Dynasty.

Re: Joel Embiid Trade Thread
I made a poll. Happy to allow the thread if people want to talk about it (more open to random threads with it being the off season) but if it's mostly just going to be this one guy that started an account a week ago seemingly to only talk about this over and over again then its probably not worth it.

My only suggestion is change the poll to:
Who is yuuby?
Ben's burner.
Joel's burner.
Other burner (who?).

Trade Simmons and maybe Harris and that's it. if the new players for whatever reason don't mesh well with Embiid, then you think about trading him before trade deadline, but not now.

Re: Joel Embiid Trade Thread
There reasons you don’t trade Joel :
#1. The reason we lost in the playoffs this year was not Joel Embiidi. That was Ben Simmons!
#2. Who could you get to make a trade worth it.( Jokic…. Give me a break.)
#3. Are you really ready to go thru another 10 years of crappy basketball while we rebuild? I’m not.

Pretty strong response to the poll lol. Ok I’m gonna lock it, can discuss in the fantasy trade thread or the Embiid thread or wherever.
