I think his scoring numbers as a junior are pretty fraudulent in that Michigan State had no talent whatsoever and just fed him a bunch of assisted buckets. He did very little by way of self creation. I think he's a PF defensively. I wouldn't want him guarding any ball handlers. Not sure he offers any floor spacing either, his shooting profile is pretty weak.

So a big bodied, ball mover that you can put on non-ball handlers defensively? Ehh, not feeling it.

You need to get over self creation. Hawks were a walk off team against the Bucks. Size with skill >>

I think his stats are excellent if you're projecting a role player on a contender. He had a better AST% than our first round pick, +2.0 STL%, +4.0 BLK%, 27 USG%, +75% FT.

Massive leaps in each of his three years with some dips as his USG went up. No chance he turns into Jimmy Butler or anything, but a more hands off defensive oriented player with open looks will make his 3pt% jump.

I'm not holding out on him being much more than a nice bench piece floor/role playing starter ceiling. That's a smaller variability than what Springer's future holds (which I hope is all star guard, but I'm not holding my breath).

Damn, the Knicks have Myles Powell AND Miles McBride? Am I quietly becoming a Knicks fan?

Joe - Unfortunately the timeline isn’t great. Can shoot but is small for his position though his defense is good for how lean he is. Pass

Maxey - Keep. Best one out of the bunch. Quality off the bench with starter Combo guard upside.

Reed - Make or break this year. There is a bench power forward spot that’s his for the taking. Though his game isn’t suited to the Mike Scott role. 50-50

Thybulle - All NBA wing defender from the bench. Valuable on defense and as an asset. Theoretically can play as a starter but only if the starting unit is up to scratch which it isn’t offensively.

Springer - Raw like well raw on offense but he is a meatball. I like meatballs. Great kid that’s three now in succession (Thybulle, Maxey, Springer). Could be the backbone to our success here.

Bassey/Filip - Both will 100% get playing time if they are on the list come season start. Dream scenario is if both hit, we don’t have to sign a bench big backup for Embiid’s window. That’s the plan anyway.

Curry - Hoping that he becomes our 6th man. Seems perfect for that role.

Out of this we have built a seriously good bench unit imo. The trick is to get 8 quality players come playoffs time. We are on track for that.

Good stuff.

Now middling or marginal players that require FA overpays should be an after thought. Our list is more then enough here. No more Harris contracts please and thank you!

Only reason to accept those type of contracts is on the backend of trade package (I.e Harris for split contracts and assets).

Bench:
Maxey/Springer
Thybulle
Reed
Bassey/Filip

Now to fix the starting unit and that’s well deep. Love it

I, low key, love how Milton is out of this.

Springer's stats look good but man he does not pop on the eye test. Looks slow, short, and croc-armed.

I wouldn’t mind if Springer was drafted to be traded. Even less excited about him than I was last night.

What’s worse is people I know who are avid fans still say Gee-an-is and Joke-itch.

Or Philly fans who say “Jole” instead of “Jo-el”. Probably nitpicking but it’s funny.

Doesn't Jimmy Lynum still call him Jole? lol

Yep 100%. He gets a pass.

To Raps Fans,

If you guys are just going to draft Barnes, then you should have just traded that pick to us than just wasting it on the poorman’s version of Ben Simmons

Evan Mobley looked good on workouts. Almost lead the Pistons to draft him (also Jalen). Cade didnt look good on his workout with the Pistons, but they dont have the balls to pass him up.

Is someone going to create a Summer League thread? Just saw that Daishen Nix is playing for our SL team this year as well.

I saw people sh**ting on Kuminga after he was picked, but after a thorough YouTube review today, I am a believer.

Cade is well overs, Green has a ways to go. Mobley is the best player in this draft. I mean Mobley’s outcome is such high value here.

With Kuminga he needs strict coaching and discipline.

The G League coach threw up his hands on more then a few occasions. Some horrible shots. Well up and down, but his best was easy top 5.

Super duper young app

He isn’t boom or bust but he is swingy. Clearly a talent

After watching some Petrusev video, i’m kinda worried about if his shot release is going to translate to the nba. I know he’s tall, but it’s just a slow release with kind of a low, push starting point. Would be fine for most bigs, but if his primary value is as a stretch big, he might struggle with NBA-caliber closeouts.

Reminds you of Mike Muscala?

Honestly, it reminds me of when Amir Johnson used to load the howitzer. :D

Obviously you don't understand that the UDFA we signed to a two-way should project to being an elite shot creator at the NBA level.
