His conditioning and injury history is part of his game. It's one of the reasons why he is not a reliable offensive weapon in the playoffs.
We are not a high iq fanbase. We look at ppg and use that to determine offensive value.
Embiid is a turnover prone midrange loving post up big man with little to no playmaking. That type of player will never be near the top offensive player in the league.
He is not a top 10 offensive player. Here are 10 player who are easily better on offense:
Curry
KD
Kyrie
Lebron
Harden
Jokic
Luka
Giannis
Lillard
Trae
If you cant playmake you are not a top offensive player.
Embiid is a great player because he is a good on offense and defense but he is not a top offensive player who you can run your offense through.
Embiid is One of the most effective offensive players at least for the first half and through the 3 quarters
You can’t disagree with that.
But we need someone to take us home. Embiid can keep any game close by himself. But he simply can’t be option 1A in the last 2-3 min of a game. Yes. A lot of it has to be fatigue. But in this league. Wings and guards need to be closers. Not your 7 foot center starting the offense from 15 feet out because your starting point guard is incapable of making a shot outside of 5 feet.
That’s why we need to trade for an elite wing or guard at all cost. And no. CJ doesn’t move the needle. Neither does Dlo or sexton. Fox can’t shoot a lick either. He can get to the rim. So I’m not sure if he’s the answer. Obviously we should go after dame. But. I’m afraid Portland won’t trade him because future draft picks from Sixers May not mean anything and Portland wants almost guarantee top 5-10 picks. If Embiid stays upright with dame. That means 3-4 more years of worthless picks for Portland.
